My gut feeling is he decommits, this feels a like the Conley saga.
Again, this is an account followed by multiple members of the Poggi family.
In fact, a member of the Poggi family, Sam, is the one who started a recruiting site called SigningDay.com that I believe was launched very recently. It's the same website pushed by the Biff account last week and one of the first follows from the SigningDay Twitter account was the Biff account.
Why would practically every member of the Poggi family follow this account if it was fake? Why wouldn't they have reported it by now if it was fake? Why would somebody make a fake Twitter account that only posted Gilman-related material for months? Why would the official Gilman Football account retweet everything this account posted?
Except this would be worse. The coaches at least knew Conley was wavering and could prepare for a decommit. If Poggi decommits, it will have taken them by complete surprise.
Let's play this game. First answer why he would call his son's conference "irrelevant" and why would he single out Meyer when UM has their primary recruiter from the Big Ten too? Those questions are just as valid.
I'll just add that many PSU fans have been wary (to put it kindly) of Biff Poggi for a while. He notoriously oversells the number of offers that players from his team has. Not saying he's unethical or anything (from what I've seen), but from the comments I've seen, people have not taken kindly to how he handles recruitments. Just my
That account has 15 total tweets. One of which is just "@BiffPoggi" and another was a half-tweet that was an accidental click. So we are down to 13.
There are 6 tweets between June and August about football and God, then the account goes complete dark until January when SEC love starts getting spread.
It took me longer to write this post than it would have to maintain that account over 7 months and make 13 shady tweets.
I'm pretty sure he's not singling out Urban Meyer as a great recruiter. I think he's saying Ohio State would be lucky because Henry would be in SEC and Ohio State wont ever have to face his son. Thats how I originally thought of the meaning
Well, I could easily see why the Poggi family would want to follow a "Fake Biff" account, just to keep up with the BS, but if everything else you are saying is true, then I'm admittedly confused. If Biff really did post those comments on twitter, he sure isn't the stand-up guy he is purported to be.
It just makes so little sense.
I guess we'll all see soon enough.

If it was a troll account, why tweet so infrequently? Why decide to troll now?
Again, nobody can give a legitimate answer as to why ten + members of the Poggi family follow this account, yet none have said one word about it being fake or that those tweets are BS. The one tweet went very, very public, and none of these accounts denied it or stepped forward. Why would Gilman Football support a fake account like that?
Steve....I am not the one to defend Biff at all...but I will counter with this...
That account could well be associated with some member of the Poggi or Gilman family, however what big time high school coach (not DC, hanger on, bro of the prgram, etc) would write the ridiculous stuff that has shown up on that twitter account? And secondly, wary of Biff or not, does he seem like a cat that knows how to use twitter, facebook, etc? I think not. I am pulling back a tad on my initial thoughts about the situation. I still think this was a sneaky visit, but I am going to give the family the benefit of the doubt.
The 2nd quick visit is a little concerning/interesting though...
I'm not debating anybody at all; I just think it's a lot harder to prove that it's not real than it is going the other way. Just because the guy made two comments that have been perceived to be controversial doesn't mean he's not the one saying them.
Because the account was originally started by Biff so people followed it? Then he realized he wasn't a Twitter person so he abandoned it in August after everyone in the family had already followed the account? Then some jokester at the school got his password and decided it would be funny to start trolling Michigan fans 4 months after the last legit tweet? And in that 4 months none of the real family who had originally followed the account clicked he "unfollow" button? And on Twitter nobody is going to notice 1 or 2 odd tweets so the people following the account just ignored it, or didn't even see it on a timeline filled with jokes about Manti Te'o?
I agree with BKP....I think they may have had a conversation with him regarding the comments he made about being solid to U of M but at the same time he was looking at his son taking on OV to Alabama...which he did not like what was said by the coaches. Again, this is just speculation but I could definitely see it being true.
Though his twitter comments about recruiting like the SEC (and if they dont start then Ohio with continue to dominate) are slightly off base. Per 247's rankings the B1G and SEC each have 2 teams ranked in the top 5 for 2013 (one of them being hissons committed school). Where the difference in the conferences are (recruiting wise) is that the next highest B1G team is Nebraska at 21 and Penn State at 23, however, between Michigan (4) and Nebraska (21), there are 6 SEC teams.
I think the B1G may again become the Big 2...with Penn State as an outside possibility. After that you will have middle tier teams like Nebraska, Northwestern, Wisconsin, etc.
Also, if I'm wrong, I'll be the first to admit it!
That seems like a very unlikely situation.
More than likely just made some comments that didn't come off as he intended them to.
A man of integrity...I like it.
We will all know son enough I guess
I'm not going for likely, I'm going for plausible.
And to me, that is more plausible than finding a high school coach who's local team just joined the Big Ten, who has one son at Iowa, and who's other son is committed to Michigan, would be tweeting how the Big Ten sucks. Especially after 4 months of not tweeting anything and being a guy who is notorious for not liking the media. He'll tweet about the SEC ruling, but then give a no-comment to the Bama site interviewing him?
My guess is, what ever Poggi is thinking, the coaching staff has a pretty good idea of what hes thinking.
Steve, There is clearly much more than a reasonable doubt that it's Biff's account. In that case it's best for recruiting professionals and fans to ignore it and not use it to spark flames until there is clear proof otherwise. Furthermore, Henry's private account does not follow it. None of the many recruiting analysts which have known Biff for the last ten years follow it. And one if his 14 earth shattering tweets was that the Wizard Of Oz was weird.

Well if what the Bama people are reporting is true, then no, the coaches don't have a good idea what he's thinking because he's expressed to the staff the opposite of what the Bama people are reporting.
Forget the Twitter account. IF this was an OV, what was said to the Michigan coaches?

TVH has said that if there is any thought of Poggi flipping, it hasn't been mentioned to the UM coaches. If Poggi flips, Biff Poggi is burning a huge bridge here, because it'll mean he'd been lying to the Michigan coaches for a while now.
This is like a who dun-nit mystery cruise on the high seas!
Someone in this whole thing is misrepresenting the truth. Either the Bama people are somehow misinterpreting stuff the Poggi's said/did or the Poggi's have been purposefully misleading the UM coaches (and UM media who have been pretty much unanimous is saying they would be shocked if he flipped from their convo's with Poggi about Bama). Either way, this is getting weird.
This is a good question and one I asked earlier in this thread. Let's dismiss the Twitter account for the moment as a fake. Why is 247 reporting the visit as an Official? Has that been confirmed?
