We went to one last year based on the rest of the yahoo's left to choose from an at large. And since we were going to bring in the most money, most attractive, and such rich tradition....it wasn't a hard decision. I didn't say the Big 10 wasn't weak this year....I said a Big 12 team with a new coach, new system, freshman QB, hardest schedule made the SEC look overrated. So like I said before....Bama and LSU > rest of SEC. It's not even close.
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
Listen.....it is just as difficult for Rutgers to win the Big East as it is for SC to win the SEC. They are playing with much less talent on their team and in their conference but it is still just as hard for them to win it as you. It is hard for a MAC team to win the MAC. Ya, the conference sucks as a whole, but they are playing teams relative to their talent level. So is SC in the SEC....so you see....its all relative.

The argument that the SEC is weak because A&M came in and went 10-2 in year 1 is idiotic. If you actually watched the A&M team this year, it is a COMPLETELY different team than the Big 12 team that went 7-6 last year. New QB, new coaches, new offensive AND defensive system, etc. Not to mention, the 7-6 Big 12 A&M, held a lead in every single game that it played and was several 2nd half collapses away from being 11-2 or 12-1. If you're going to use A&M as an example of the SEC's weakness then why not use Mizzou as a case of the SEC's strength, they joined the league as well and looked completely outclassed. To say that the SEC is weak because the A&M came in and went 10-2 in year 1 is a shot at that A&M team. That team went 10-2 because we have multiple 1st rounders on our OL and DL, a Heisman Trophy QB and weapons all around him. The SEC is just as strong, if not stronger than any other conference, I hate to say it but it has proven that year after year in the past decade or so.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Ok TAMU, all I'm saying a Big 12 came in and dominated the conference. Only using it as an example that most of the SEC is overrated.
My point is, it's a completely different team, not to mention the 2011 A&M team was several collapses away from running the Big 12 that year as well. I think it says more about A&M than it does the SEC.
The SEC is top heavy, just like most conferences. The middle to lower parts are simply not all that impressive. Where would Tennessee be in the Big 10? Probably around the level of a Purdue.
That said, the top of the conference is simply slightly better than the best of other conferences right now.
Thank you. That is a great way to explain it. You cool with that explanation TAMU?

Yeah, I think the elite teams in the SEC are some of the best, I do think that the SEC has solid depth to 8 or 9 but those mid level teams aren't necessarily head and shoulders above every other conference. I will say that it is impressive that the 6th best team in the SEC is the #10 team in the country.
Hey Cope, I realize you have a history of lying, but you did say you had matured. You're still trolling.
6-6 right? Kewl story brah...
23-20 Michigan wins... not sure where Funchess has been, but I see him blowing up in this game. Gardner and Robinson will be on the field a lot together. Load the box, and make Shaw beat them w/ his arm. By the 2nd half, adjustments will give Mattison the edge over Spurrier.
Not sure that's even UM specific..
Just saying that's what the BCS is.. it's not about simply champions or the highest ranked teams
Right, nothing to do with Michigan. Just a random observation from Copemoney.
It was about Michigan. You talk about 2 things, Michigan or MSU, and since MSU has never been to a BCS bowl...
I'm a CFB fan as well and like seeing good matchups.. Having 5 loss and NR teams in the BCS seems a bit crazy
And this year's crop is very bleh
You may think the matchups are bleh, but it still is a big deal for programs to make a BCS bowl. MSU hasn't made one since the 80's, it will be a big deal for them once that happens, regardless if the matchup maybe bleh.
National Title (pipe dream)
Every other bowl.. Sorry, don't see a difference between the Cap 1, Outback or Orange Bowl.. just means MSU failed it's season goal which is to win the B1G
And considering the BCS and it's bowl are going away after next year- I'd say no one really thinks of them as a big deal anymore or they wouldn't be going away
If you keep saying it, eventually you will believe it.
LMAO... Tennessee is one of the worst teams in the SEC. Right at the bottom right now. WTF are you talking about? They would have probably been a contender in the ACC this year (all offense, no defense just like Clemson) and probably would be middle of the pack in the Big Ten this year if you look at it realistically. They have one of the best Olines in the nation, two of the best WRs and one of the best QBs in the country.
For all you guys saying that only LSU and Bama are good and it's such a talent difference- Um no. Not this year, atleast. TAMU beat Bama. UF beat LSU. LSU has almost lost to a few bad teams. UGA took Bama to the wire and SC drug Bama and played LSU close in a night game at Death Valley. That's why we are all bunched up inside the top 10. If Bama and LSU are so nasty in your minds then you should understand why looking at it all it appears that basically any of the 6 SEC schools in the Top 10 could hang with each other on the field any given Saturday.
Clemson fans were all saying the same crap before rivalry weekend and then what happened? UGA drug GT, UF beat mighty FSU (you know, that elite recruiting powerhouse like Michigan), and SC beat Clemson and held their vaunted offense littered with elite play makers to 17 points.
Whether or not you guys want to admit it, S.Carolina is favored and is probably going to beat Michigan on Jan 1 as well.
You people want to use the tired TAMU argument, but ignore the fact that Mizzou got exposed when they came into the SEC.
When called upon, the SEC has answered the bell against other conferences. That's why they get love. Just grow up and accept reality. College football is cyclical- you guys will probably get back on top at some point, so quit your crying.
EDIT: Yes, the ACC is weak, but FSU and Clemson are the two best teams in that conference this year. And they lost to their SEC rivals. I can't speak for all of you, but I know that Moon thinks that recruiting rankings are the main indicator of success. FSU and Clemson pull Top 10 classes CONSISTENTLY and they both lost. We've been Clemson 4 years in a row, including when they won the ACC convincingly last year. Then we went on to beat Nebraska in the bowl game.

You come to our boad and expect us to be all SEC SEC SEC. Get over yourself. Nobody here is crying. We just don't hold your belief that the whole SEC is great. Sorry but South Carolina is not a great team this year. They may beat Michigan in the bowl game but i got to tell you Michigan isn't a great team this year.
No. I expected unbiased reasonable fans, not irrational "sec hating". I never said we were "great". I just said that all 6 top 10 SEC teams are comparable in ability... and better than Michigan. Believe me, I know UM is not great. Same as last year. They haven't been great in a while. The whole nation knows.
South Carolina isn't great. Hasn't been great ever in my lifetime. The whole nation knows.
There is no way the top 6 teams in the SEC are comparable in ability. It's Bama then everyone else. I was not impressed by LSU, Florida, A&M, Georgia or SC this year. Not one of those teams have a complete team. They have either a strong offense or a strong defense but not both.
USCe is riding the coattails of Bama, LSU and the like. USCe has never won the SEC. Not once. Hell, you have to go back to the 60's to find the only time they won a conference title. That is the one time they won one. That is it, no other titles at all.
If it wan't for the SEC elite winning it all, USCe would still be an after thought. Keep claiming that you licked the Natties pvssy since you tasted while sucking off Bama's and LSU's cock. Congrats on that.
Typical response I've come to expect. All SC fans know we have never been prestigious or won titles. None of this is news. We are making steps in the right direction- we have never had sustained success or a brand name like Michigan. We are hoping to build one. Flip side is you guys have tasted success and can't stand that the SEC has stolen the limelight. I'm not riding Bama's success. The weaker our opponents are, including Bama, the better chance we have of making bcs bowls or even nc games. It's a trade off so i don't really give a $&@%... My only point is that you guys say it's Bama then everyone else when any common idiot can realize that tamu beat them and LSU and uga took them to the wire. SC lost to LSU by 2 in the toughest environment in the nation to win in and absolutely embarrassed UGA. So, your statement is moronic. You can argue that it's bama and LSU more consistently with elite recruiting and rankings, but any of those bcs top 10 sec teams could contend with the other on a neutral site any given saturday and that's simply been proven on the field this year. Noones riding coattails- the only time I mention the strength of the sec is to either illustrate our strength of schedule or illustrate the fact that it's harder for us to get a bcs bowl than ACC, big east, or even big ten schools. It's not that complicated. Say what you want about sc's history but were about to set our personal best by beating Michigan for back to back 11 win seasons, beat our rival 4 years in a row, beat our conference rival uga 3 years in a row and have broken a ton of school records. May not impress you but I spent 4 of the best years of my life actually attending my school and pulling for my team through thick and thin and it's a great time to be a gamecock.
