I'd just like to say this for the record.
Today, OSU's leading tackler was FB Zach Boren, who was moved over to play MLB. Both wifebeater Storm Klein and formerly touted prospect Curtis Grant were so bad that OSU would rather play a 2-way guy than put either of them on the field. Etienne Sabino just broke his fibula, so the only real LB left to start is Ryan Shazier.
And despite all of this, the two best LBs in the state of Ohio remain committed to Michigan. Do you think Meyer's regretting waiting to offer McCray now? I certainly do...
7-0 . . . . .
7-0 here's a pat on the back because that's about all you're playing for. Congrats on meaningless wins against nobodies. Meanwhile we will be playing in a BCS while the world watches, including your team, sitting at home on the couch.
28 points? Would have been at least 35.
I know why Fickell cant coach, he's moonlighting as Judge alex

A quote from Buckeye fans last season
"So what you played 8 home games"
Thats funny shit right there
OSU's future talent on defense is really good. Their talent today? Outside of Hankins and Simon, there are no sure NFL players there. Shazier probably. Secondary...meh.
On top of that, with their LBs fallling left and right, that leaves them wanting.
The real question is: have the Buckeyes played a really good offensive team? Yes, I know Nebraska and Indiana are ranked in the top 30...but again, which stellar defenses have either played, including OSU?
It really isn't OSU's fault though..their schedule sucks, Big 10 sucks. Braxton is the real deal, their WR are making enough plays. But this is not a championship caliber defense.
In comparison to the competition in the BIG, OSU has top 3 Defensive talent. As UM fans, we know better than most how good coaching can effect a D. Overnight, Mattison turned our sieve of a defense into a top 20 unit. How many sure fire NFL players are starting on our D? Not a whole lot. Ohio's problem is a combination of coaching and philosophy. Dante Booker, are you watching?
I hope they do continue to use the lack of talent excuse. Just give recruiting time! Stay the course, support the coaches. Sound familiar to anyone?

most reasonable post on here for sure, but regardless of all that ohio state giving up 30 points will make OSU fans upset let alone this. i will also add that if bradley roby decides to go pro, which we hope he doesnt, many expect him to be a first rounder
And I think Fickell is not cut out for the job. It's hard to say because I'm on the outside looking in, but he seems like too nice of a guy. They need a tough SOB in there to make those boys play better or get off the field.
and he seems to be a tressel disciple in that he is loyal to his older guys to a fault even if they arent as talented as younger guys. but regardless of that it seems like a change needs to be made, and his seems like the most likely target
Michigan is gonna run wild on them this year.
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
careful he hasn't signed on the dotted line yet.
and our coaches out recruiting and flipping players.
I'll bet you anything that he signs with Michigan over OSU.
I'll give you guys a little insight into our line backer situation. The main story is injuries.
Ryan Shazier – Sophomore – Playing/dinged
Curtis Grant – Sophomore – game hasn’t slowed down yet
David Perkins – Freshman - enrolled in the fall
Luke Roberts – Freshman – enrolled in the fall
Jamal Marcus – Freshman – enrolled in the fall
This is what we are working with. Curtis Grant for some reason is not playing (don’t know why). Our other 3 options are 3 freshmen that enrolled this fall and haven’t seen ANY snaps at linebacker because those are given to the people that earned roster spots in Spring and were going to be playing in the fall. It is no surprise to me why they went to Boren. Because of injuries, he is the best option at this point in the year. We should get Sabino back in time for the last two games which will stiffen up that defense a little. Not sure how bad the other injuries are.
Storm Klein - Injured
Etienne Sabino - Senior - Injured
Camren Williams – Freshman - Injured
Josh Perry – Freshman – Injured
Connor Crowell - Freshman - injured
Who is red shirting from those names your provided....anyone?
None that I know of. Perkins, Roberts, and marcus are doing pretty good on special teams. The ones that are injured have already gotten playing time. Crowell red shirted last year and would be a pretty good line backer if he wasn't injured now.
The problem is we are giving up about 100 yards more per game to the pass. We are stopping the RUN with more efficiency than last year. I know there are a lot of trolling threads on both our boards, but I sincerely think this doesn't bode well for um come time for The Game. My reasoning is that if we can stunt your running game, it will force Denard to throw, which is what we want. His propensity to make poor decisions and throw interceptions is well-documented. On the flip side, Braxton Miller is not a stellar passer either, although I believe he is a better passer. Having said that, our biggest problem is we are playing a soft defense rather than an attacking defense. Meyer will force that to change by the end of the year. We've seen it change at times already this year, but nothing consistently. That comes down to our DC and coaching. The bottom line is Fickell isn't sure what to do with the talent we have on the Defense. We all know one thing holds true: BOTH teams will show up on 11/24 at noon. BOTH teams will be at their best. All bets are off. Rankings will mean nothing. I expect this game to be a repeat of the 2006 shootout at the Horseshoe. I won't predict a winner here, because we all know who we think will win. um fans = um. Ohio State fans = Ohio State. But, I think the score will be about 38-38 late in the 4th quarter. The difference in the game will be WHOEVER THROWS MORE INT'S will lose. Could be Braxton... could be Denard. But both defenses will plan to take away the run. If that happens, the team that passes better wins. AND, if one team is able to run on the other, game over. We held MSU to 34 yards rushing. Now, I don't think that will be the case especially with Denard in the backfield, but I don't see him rushing for 200 yards either. I am confident we can slow down your running game. But it depends on which Denard shows up on 11/24. If it is the Denard that can beat you with the pass (at times he's looked great)... um wins. If he shows up as the Arm-Punt Robinson, Ohio State wins. That's my best assessment as things stand right now. I DO hope we are BOTH at full strength for The Game.
OSU - 189 ypg (103)
UM - 186 ypg (107)
verdict: negligible with an asterisk (*)
OSU - 264 ypg (8)
UM - 232 ypg (16)
verdict: worth +3 point OSU
OSU - 40.4 ppg (20)
UM - 33.8 ppg (37)
verdict: worth +3 point OSU
OSU - 24.6 ppg (53)
UM - 17.5 ppg (23)
verdict: worth +7 points UM
OSU - 16 (8)
UM - 8 (62)
verdict: worth +1 turnover to OSU
OSU - 123 ypg
UM - 148 ypg
OSU - 278 ypg
UM - 134 ypg
+10 with an asterisk to UM (*)
Home Game = OSU +3
The asterisk is dependent upon which Denard shows up. IF Denard passes well in The Game, this is how I believe the game will end: Michigan by 7 (45-38 or 38-31). If not, Ohio State by 3 (41-38 or 38-35).
