its a good day in Michigan basketball!!!
Woohoo! Definitely gonna have to make it to the Garden this fall

Think about this... about 4 years ago a lot of Michigan fans felt Tim was a consolation prize because we missed out on Prather and Zeigler. Today he was the 1st round pick of the Knicks and their fans actually cheered when normally they boo the pick no matter who it is...
I'm happy for both Burke and Hardaway. As a Bulls fan its bittersweet to root for Timmy as a Knick but he's going to a good team. As far as Burke, I'm still hoping he gets traded to some other decent team. Happy he got picked so early but dang what a black hole he's going to. Happy for Michigan basketball and Beilein getting some tv time. He will be back there for many years now that he is recruiting big time players. It's gotta be like a dream for him...makes the title game and is there in the first round of the draft watching his boys go. Go Blue! ****Nevermind, didn't see he got traded to the Jazz. Like above, as a Bulls fan, its bittersweet but its a good team for him to go to. Happy for both of them

Sweet! That's a big stage for Timmy to play on in MSG
Utah is hardly a black hole...
Had to edit above...didn't see he got traded. Wrote that for the T-Wolves pick. Glad for him now.
What a shame by the Pistons. Had a clear shot at Burke and instead chose to select a fringe 1st round player. I feel bad for Caldwell-Pope because his and Dumars' leashes are going to be insanely short. Detroit fans are not in a good mood to say the least

I'd be willing to bet that Tony Mitchell will have a far better career than Caldwell-Pope.
Congrats to Hardaway Jr. and Burke....
Think they both went to good situations......
Ha, that's assuming they still have fans. Was reading earlier about them being the worst team in the league in percentage of seats filled, and that was before this blunder. Trey could have brought fans to the games, at the very least.
Hardaway on the Knicks jersey looks good.
had to get rid of the 3 sixes in my post count
Deshaun Thomas Refused To Give Spurs His Cell Number At Draft Combine
May 16, 2013 10:26 PM EDT
Deshaun Thomas interviewed with the San Antonio Spurs at the NBA draft combine on Thursday.
Among the questions asked of Thomas was his cell phone number and email address.
Thomas declined to give the Spurs his phone number.
“I can’t go around giving it out to everyone,” Thomas said Thursday with a laugh. “Now if they want to draft me, I’d be happy to give it to them.”
Thomas is currently projected as a second-round pick.
I didn't realize that Gregg Popovich and Company were some regular old Joe Schmoes on the street...
What's the harm with giving one of the best NBA Franchises your number (even if there's no guarantee of being drafted)?
Are the Spurs gonna bombard him with text messages to phone sex hotlines?

Haven't seen anyone mention it itt, but I thought all the things surrounding Stern's last draft announcement (the ovation for Stern, the boos for the new guy, bringing out Hakeem) was really great. Even though I'm not Stern's biggest fan, that was a very nice moment.
Pretty dissapointed in the Pistons tonight. A Wolverine, All American, Consensus player of the year fell to you and you took a schmuck instead. Ticket and jersey sales would have skyrocketed and Burke would still be close to UofM and Belein as a mentor. I award you zero points Joe D and may god have mercy on your soul.
I will be buying a Trey Utah jersey.
Agree. Stern has done great things for the NBA and he has got a good sense of humor.
Have thought about this Pistons draft pick a little more since yesterday. In all honesty, I may actually have a more negative opinion of it now than when it happened. Here's what I have been thinking. I can come to terms with not getting Burke. Would have loved it as a Michigan fan, but you can make a good argument that he just wasn't the right fit for this team give the roster. Alright, that's fine.
However, I don't know how you rationalize that picking Caldwell-Pope at #8 would have been better than doing the same trade Minnesota did. You may downgrade from CP, but you still could have gotten a guy like Muhammad at the #14 pick and you could have taken a 1st round point guard with the second pick such as a Canaan. To me, that's more effective at filling your needs than Caldwell-Pope at #8 and a point guard at #56 that might make the roster when next season rolls around. This may not be the consensus opinion, but I don't think Muhammad is much of a dropoff in potential from CP and a Canaan would certainly be a massive upgrade from a Siva (if he ends up on the team).
If CP turns out to be a great NBA player, Dumars will look like a genius, but if he's not and some of these guys develop into something, wow.
This is the BEST
