Looks pretty good.
I was thinking of buying it, but I think i've gotta pass. Looks the exact same and they haven't seemed to make any strides in dynasty mode. I bought every version from Bill Walsh College Football and College Football's National Championship on Sega until NCAA 2012. Seems like the series has gotten stagnant and not made many strides in the last few years. 2013 was the 1st year I didn't buy, and it's looking like I probably won't buy until next gen.
Haven't gotten one since 2005, so I gotta get the Denard one.
I see that HB screens are still incredibly unfair.
I don't see why they don't implement the Madden game engine into NCAA, all tackling and blocks look like the exact animations as last year's game. $60 for a new cover, rosters, and slightly updated graphics is a rip off. Seriously, the changes from 2012 to 2013 were so minuscule (fight songs and pre game cutscenes were the most hyped new features in 2013, or the Heisman feature that was just Road to Glory but with a character named Robert Griffin III instead of Pig Benis) that they recycled 90% of the code and were able to make the new game in less than a month or two.

Just manually defend screens. It's actually pretty easy.
I understand where you're coming from.... but you've yet to play the game. You cannot judge the game based on a youtube clip.... at least not fairly. 2013's edition was stagnant but well worth $40 used imo. The super linebackers still existed and some penalties don't exist or work properly (PI, illegal touching, etc). If they fix those problems, I'll be less prone to nitpick elsewhere.
Nobody on this board can define the word regression.... but it sure gets used a lot.
They took out all the fun on recruiting, so not sure if going to get it.
I don't even understand. Screens are easy to defend. They've never been unfair. Man up and they gain nothing. edit: quoted wrong post... don't know how to fix.

I preferred the gamebreaker series. EA is the devil.
Their deal ends this year right? Competitors should be champing at the bit.
I believe so. The monopoly EA had on the football games killed them. Madden and College have been the same game the past 5 years. Just with updated rosters
Have they updated the roster size yet? I want full 85 man rosters not some stupid 65 where you have to cut a sophomore who was a 5*. Also the game was alot better when they have violations involved. Looking forward to seeing it when it is not EA sports. Probably only buying it because Denard is on the cover.
Same different year.
I wish the Dynasty mode had an Athletic Director mode where you had to balance things like recruiting budgets, assistant coach salaries, facility upgrades, academic support, etc so you could actually have some influence over those ratings in recruiting and there were actually some consequences to the decisions you make
I want some of the same things you guys want. Better recruiting, full 85 rosters are a couple things... I wish they'd fix those things. Get rid of the superman linebackers. Hhaha.
Does anyone know whether the players will be able to be drafted in Madden this year? That kind of determines whether I get it. Sucked that you couldn't last year.
"If winning isn't everything, why do they keep score?"
No, I know they're easy to defend. On offense however, it's an automatic 15+ yards if you have a quick QB and HB. Just get a step out of the pocket, set your HB up and hit him once he's open, if he isn't open you usually can scramble for a good gain because computer controlled players are terrible at reading that a QB is scrambling.
Read options are way too unfair too. Read the DE, if he crashes in, it's 80+ for a TD, and even if he is spying the QB, you hand it off for 10 yards. Even on Heisman difficulty I put up 700+ yards a game with a QB or 300+ with a HB.
Read option has been a work in progress for a long time. Same with scramble detection from the LBs and DBs.... but the AI D frequently shuts down screens in man coverage. Happens to me all the time, especially if I haven't set up a screen with previous plays. It definitely is not an automatic 15. If so I'd check your sliders.
Honestly the graphics don't change much from year to year. We will see if the next gen consoles change that.
I know it's still far too early to say this after only watching a minute long youtube clip but the gameplay looks basically like 12. There also aren't any substantial changes to Dynasty Mode. I agree with other posters about 85 man rosters and having more in-depth recruiting. For example, if you play as OSU, wouldn't it be more fun and realistic if there was a "pay recruit" or a "lie about recruiting violations" option? The game looks pretty unimpressive and the only reason I'm going to buy it is because Denard's on the cover.
No, it shouldt give you an option to cheat. Althughh that would be a cool cheat code hahaha. I've been playing 12, never got 13, just played today actually. It looks way better to me. Smoother actions and tackles. To me, as long as they don't make it worse then dyansty mode in 12 I will be super happy getting this game
I really wish 2k would make a college football game. I still play NFL 2k5.
Amazing that NFL 2K5 is still considered the gold standard of football games even though it was made 8 years ago.
I'm pretty sure this has been posted here before, but it points out clear points where Madden/NCAA is lacking.
Madden NFL 12 is out and although the game has gotten mostly positive reviews, there are still gamers out there who insist the game can't hold a candle to NFL 2K5.
2K5 is regarded by many as the best football video game of all time and has a dedicated following, with fans keeping it alive by creating roster updates to this day.
Is this the year Madden finally silences the NFL 2K5 crowd and becomes king of the video game gridiron? Watch the latest SGS episode to find out.

Yes you can this year but I’m still not sure if they fixed all the previous problems of importing Draft Classes.
People keep saying they haven't made changes to dynasty mode. What changes are you looking for besides the stupid 70 player roster size? I'd like to see decommitments in recruiting.
