IRT Oregon, a guy on 11w just posted this from Conley's twitter account (assuming it's him, looks to be):
38m Alexander Lykins @alex_lykins
I guess now we have to wait and see what @BlackSwarm_21 wants to do. Oregon is looking mighty fine right now!
37m Well Done 2+1 @BlackSwarm_21
@alex_lykins Oregon isn't gonna offer me
35m Alexander Lykins @alex_lykins
@BlackSwarm_21 Why not man?
33m Well Done 2+1 @BlackSwarm_21
@alex_lykins they want some safety

^According to that Oregon is no longer a factor for Conley. I agree with you though, Oregon was the draw to him, OSU was a secondary option. If I had to guess, I'd say Oregon fell through and he realized he wanted Michigan over OSU.

I thought Conley shut down his account? Not that I'm complaining about this news if it's true, but I remember hearing somewhere that he shut down his twitter.
https://twitter.com/BlackSwarm_21 <--your guess is as good as mine regarding whether that's really him or not. I just assumed it was.
You don't offer a kid in November unless you have a spot for him. Now, if you are saying the coaches are not willing to hold that spot for him very long while he continues to visit other schools, fine, but if he was just offered it's because the coaches want him and have a spot for him.
That's what I'm trying to say. You verbalized it better than I managed to haha.
Though we all love the dude with the cowboy hat.
I agree... he was being overly optimistic there.
I think they are having trouble recruiting big WRs, just like we did under RR, so I wouldn't call any of those a lock. I think Vonn Bell is also unlikely. Mike Mitchell was an early OSU lean but has stretched things out much longer than expected. I think A&M is a player for him now and maybe others, but OSU desperately needs LBs so you have to figure they are putting the full court press on him. Dawson is hard to call and I can actually see him ending up at OSU, MSU or even possibly UM. As for the others, idk.

"OSU is top 2 (so 50/50) with Mike Mitchell, James Quick, David Dawson, Shelton Gibson, Chris Worley, and Ryan Timmons.
Top 3 (33% chance) with Vonn Bell, Trey Johnson, Corn Elder, Skai Moore, and Donovan Munger.
I'd give us less than a 10% chance Daniel McMillian"
^If by signing day we get less than 5 of the players on this list I'll come back to this thread and admit I was wrong, but I don't foresee that happening. Shelton Gibson, Chris Worley and Ryan Timmons have essentially already said they're OSU if OSU wants them (Timmons doesn't have an offer yet, however). That means we'd only need 2 more from that list--I don't know how anyone could argue that we have no shot at all at Mike Mitchell, Vonn Bell, Trey Johnson, Corn Elder or Donovan Munger. So odds would say we'll end up with probably 2 out of that group of 8 or so others I mentioned. Most of these recruits I'm mentioning are 3 and 4-stars that have us listed in their top 2-3, so I don't think I'm being irrational. I'm not saying we're going to flip Robert Nkemdiche or Reuben Foster here haha.

Wow, looking at that list of small fast guys as OSU ath/rb/wr gives me the willies. Its RR deja vous all over again yikes. I really hope you don't get Mitchell, Bell or Johnson.
And thats interesting news about Conley. I'm glad it looks like he stays in the class but it sounds like we are his second choice.
The problem I have with Conley stating that he is 100% committed to Michigan is that it's not clear that Michigan is still 100% committed to him. A couple other outlets have reported that Conley DID NOT talk to the coaches about his trip to Columbus before he went. Although he says he didn't talk to the Ohio coaches/recruits, we still don't know how Hoke and Co. feel about his visit, unofficial or not. Unfortunately, I still think we're in "wait and see" mode.
I hope we still got an offer on the table for Conley, If he is 100% . If the coaches pull this one I will be upset to say the least.
Losing 2 top recruits would not be good ,considering how bad we need talent right now!
I know of at least two sources that say Conley spoke to the UM coaches on Saturday alone.
I think that as long as Conley is honest, the coaches will be honest as well, and are committed to him. If he were to take an official anywhere, then all bets are off.
You have a point, but my problem with his 100% statement is concerning Oregon. If he was 100% committed, to me that would mean he wouldn't budge from that regardless who else offerred. I hope that's true, but it sure seems that most don't think so.
One other tidbit about Conley's interest in Oregon. It has been reported a couple of times that Conley has an interest in playing WR and CB and that might have triggered his relatively late interest in Oregon. Oregon already has two WR commits and recently offered Paul Harris, a Tennessee WR commit. That suggests Conley is, at best, fourth on Oregon's wish list as a WR and that any offer he might receive from them in the future could be limited to CB. It also might help explain Oregon's delay in offering Conley. They might be waiting on a decision from Harris before moving further down their list.
Well, we've learned to NOT listen to Bill K, Duane and the boys.....Case in point, text I received from Bill K literally 2 hours before D. Johnson commits to PITT....."Buckeyes looking very good for Dorian Johnson...."
I got a chuckle out of that one...
LOL, Although it does appear Bill K was right about the Conley situation.
