With the highly anticipated Crystal Ball, 247sports will unleash the new database for players on April 15th.
Here's a message from Lucky on BOL (plus, check out the predictions for Jabrill Peppers):
On April 15th, 247Sports will be releasing Player Database 2.0. With the release, we are introducing 8 new products to the recruiting product line. We expect the Crystal Ball to be the most anticipated and favorite product of the release.
With the Crystal Ball version 1.0, 247Sports national and team site recruiting reporters will make their predictions on where they believe prospects will ultimately sign. In addition, we are inviting all other recruiting experts from other networks, newspapers and media to participate if they wish. They Crystal Ball will show (1) individual analysts predictions and a (2) cumulative prediction from the entire group of analysts. In version two we will allow users to make predictions for their message board reputations.
Today, Noah and the 247Sports dropped a nice little surprise and extension to the product. They now added the ability for users to see (1) all of the predictions FOR a specific product and (2) all the predictions from a specific recruiting analyst. (see images)
Again, we are very excited about this product because we believe it cuts through the noise and helps answer one of the two primary questions that users have in the recruiting cycle. "Where are they going?"
Coming April 15th. The next generation Player Database.
Also, it sounds like the recruiting analysts will be given bonuses for correct predictions, so these should be pretty accurate and nonbiased.
Kurelic begs to differ.
On Jabrill ....... .... long way to go.

Definitely cool, looking forward to this
This is not good news for Kurelic's career.
When do they need to make their predictions? do they predict all the kids? Yes i am aware that is a ton of kids so like do they have to predict say the top 250 or top 500? can they pass on making a prediction on certain kids?
I assume this is a VIP feature, but I wonder how updates will be done. Any word on if the predictions are updated in specific intervals by all the analysts or if it's fluid like the interest ratings?
We can only hope. I was wondering how funny it'd be to look just at Kurelic's predictions.
He's gonna be a broke bitch!
Unless he is broke now he isn't losing money.
I'm really really excited about this! I think this is gonna be a really good thing for 247sports.
I love predictions, just like i love mock drafts. Can't Wait!
It's going to cause so many heated discussions between fanbases on 247. Should be highly entertaining.
They can make them whenever they want. They are only being asked to predict prospects that they feel pretty confident about. There will be a date attached to when they make a prediction, so they can change their prediction whenever they want. But it will be documented when they change predictions.
Cool. Sound good.
What's the point of allowing users to vote, they'll just vote for their own school..?
Where are you seeing that they're allowing users to vote?
Crowdsourcing ..... like it.
From JC on tBB:
Phase two of this will feature the ability for users to make projections and also will feature an analyst ranking based on accurate projections. Within that formula, an analyst will get more points the further out he/she makes an accurate projection.
So yes it will be in our best interest to make early projections and to be as accurate as possible with those.
