Agree, the latter did happen often, which is why it's not a big deal that MSU won the B1G and didn't go to the Rose Bowl.
Funny enough, I believe the B1G changed its policy in 2010- the year MSU tied with OSU and Wisconsin.
And yep- you are correct on the former as well.
Actually, I don't recall seeing the raw numbers for scout on tBB. Can you link them? Thanks.
How does that discredit the shift, in your eyes?
Wasn't that hard to find.. I'll put Rivals here too just for comparison... Note- I hate Scout's ranking. This is just an exercise to show you the increase in MSU's classes wasn't simply because Rivals starting rating more 3*stars as you said previously. It's simply relative.
Average Star/recruit on Scout
Average Star/recruit on Rivals
In both cases, the recruiting at MSU has seen a pretty big uptick. Dantonio's last five classes per Scout have been his best- the exact same (just different order) can be said from Rivals.
So, no, I don't think the increase in MSU's overall rankings have to do with the extra recruits from Rivals being graded as 3stars as you said as a similar correlation exists on another recruiting service.
(what I also find interesting and confusing at the same time is MSU's 09 class- Rivals has average star/recruit 3.30, Scout has that same class at 2.74. Seems like a major different between the two services based on the same group of people. Yet another example of how the rankings can be flawed from one service to the next.)

I realize you get confused easily, but I was asking for the raw numbers on how many 3* and 2* recruits scout grades each year.
Have no clue.
However, this comparison would work just as well.. shows a correlation, the same way Rivals does.
Interesting little bit from Rittenberg on ESPN. Apparently one school is trying to get the divisions changed because they're unhappy. He (and everybody else) speculates MSU. Is anybody surprised at all they still can't handle the thought of playing in a tough division?
Silly Sparties. Like anyone gives an eff what they want.
Don't care what anyone thinks.. give MSU the West!!
Wouldn't matter. Still wouldn't make a Rose Bowl.
It makes no sense for MSU to be in the West
So you admit you're Cope?
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Can't blame them, I'd be mad too if I realized my team's ceiling was the Capital One Bowl pretty much every year. I mean MSU is about to make 1 conference championship game every 10 years in the East but in the West they actually can compete for the division crown most years.
What this shows me is that your recruiting peaked when RR was coach. All of your highest recruiting classes were from 2008-2011. 3.30 in 09, 3.19 in 11'. Every single national champion has had a top 10 recruiting class but yeah it's not accurate at all.
Where's the threat?
He has already admitted that he is Copemoney0 and Housedivided. He lied initially when asked, and then relented when the mods looked it up and called him out. They have stopped banning him because he will just make a new screen name and keep posting. He doesn't have issues though.
Laying in the weeds I believe.
Dantonio's 2nd best classes has been the last two seasons per Rivals..
To be fair, Dantonio's ceiling has shown to be a B1G Title, something UM hasn't been able to accomplish in nine years
Dantonio's ceiling collapsed on his head when Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer were hired. Fourth in the division with home losses to NW and Iowa is no way to go through life.

Damn you are annoying. We get it, you are an MSU fan.
The funny thing is, this is the same cat crying because MSU is in a division with Michigan, tOSU and PSU instead of out west. He claims that MSU has a ceiling of B1G titles in one breath and then complains that they won't be able to compete for B1G titles in the next.
He should listen to coach Dantonio, the MSU program was defined by having to beat Minnesota to get to 6 wins in the regular season.
Yes he is.
What don't you get? You didn't win a Big 10 title...you won your division. God you are stupid. I'm embarrassed for you at this point
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
Moon MSU did get a share of the Big Ten title with Wisky and Ohio(vacated i believe) a couple years ago.
