How did Sparty fair when they played Bama?
Bama my well go undefeated this season
MSU has several things to work on as well, having to comeback to win at home against a team that replaced about everyone, would have me worried
Alabama will be favored in every game they play the entire season, your opinion means nothing.
The powerhouses of the Big Ten have been getting housed like that by the SEC for the past decade, Michigan was the only one holding serve against SEC teams until last night.
Unfortunately I agree with you on this part. I said in another thread that they didn't even try to get Denard involved in the run game, and w/ Fitz out Denard had to have a big day on the ground. It seemed as if they were playing to keep Denard healthy more than winning the game. Which even though I disagree with, it was a gameplan and if Denard would have gotten injured running around in the 1st half, then they'd get ripped for using him too much against a brutal Bama D.
I don't think that happens. I'd be shocked if they were favored in Baton Rouge this year..
Did you guys score? Wasn't that a bowl game, like after your first twelve?
They are going to beat LSU this year. Yeldon is the best back I've seen in a while and that offensive line is brutal. IMO, Miles isn't going to beat Saban this year or any in the foreseeable future. Field goals are not going to beat this years Alabama team.
This may be the best post I have seen in some time.
The only thing that I have to say that is not very positive is this,
As much as it pains me to say this, I can not wait until Denard graduates. Love the kids heart and Michigan spirit and he does play hard, but he is no QB.He missed open receivers the 2 completions he made early were great catches by the WR (behind them). But I will wait and see, I love the kid and maybe against other team than BAMA he can show out again.
I am super surprised Denard only ran 1 time in the first half, I was also surprised at some of the play calls Al made. But I believe the coaches along with the players were at wonder over Bama's speed and strength.
With all that being said The TEAM will be just fine!
We are Michigan Fergodsakes!

To win the SEC you need luck on top of skill...Bama showed that last year, and they didn't have luck. Their game with LSU probably decides who is going to the big game.
As for Michigan and positives:
-First, unlike other teams that have commented on this thread, Michigan didn't give up.
-This is by far the most talented team we will face this year before the bowl...no question.
- I think that we will be able to run the ball. Bama's front 7 is really really good, but our OL did get some push on them. The problem is our RB have no breaking ability or shifting without Toussaint. We would have lost if he was there, but he would have probably rushed for 70-100 yards.
- WR may not be so bad, but we need to move Roundtree to the slot...he is not useful on the outside. Gardner is the real deal, if he learns to run routes. Gallon should be our other outside guy.
- Our DL is a mixed bag, but when I focused on them early, they were holding their own...our depth is the problem.
- Our corners held up decently without Countess. Depth is back.
- Hagerup and Norfleet were probably our best players last night :-(
I actually am feeling pretty good about the rest of our season. Borges needs to unleash Denard more and earlier. And don't treat him as a pure pocket passer, fergodsakes.
Any word on Countess and Lewan? If not, my silver lining is the team played poorly. Borges called an awful game. I hope they learn from this, but being waxed like that makes me unsure of whether or not that happens.
Bama fans thanks for being classy as heck at the game. Talked to a lot of you guys and y'all were awesome.

Roy is not in a position that suits his talent. He played slot the year he caught 79 passes and was often matched up against LBs. He isn't tall enough or fast enough to beat corners on the routes he has to run as an outside WR.
Sam Webb tweeted Countess has a sprained MCL and nothing torn, which is good. Air Force won't throw the ball much so my guess is they rest Blake 2 weeks, then have him practice fully for ND week.
Gameplan??? Yes, your teams gameplan is great give it to Bell till he passes out. How long do you think you will be able to ride that horse in the Big 10?
Thanks for the info, Taylor ok or no word?
What would you call 49-7?
No word and maybe not until tomorrow.
I was at a concert last night so wasn't able to watch the game. Watching it now, and MAN, I'm just glad we do not play another defense and offense that resembles that one.
Positives--Not much of anything. Norfleet looked good on his 17 kickoff returns.
Negatives--Everything else. Defense got absolutely worked. Offense got completely worked.
Silver lining: As i said earlier, we do not play another team anywhere near that level for the rest of the season.
Agreed and I'm thankful for that, but with getting beaten that bad, does the team learn how to take it as a positive? It won't be easy.
I mean, this is one of those games where you walk in to the film room, say "We got our asses kicked," show the film and move on. I don't think they'll dwell on this one too long. This wasn't a game where you do 1 or 2 things differently and you win the game. They couldn't do anything to win that game
Nice to see an honest and realistic post, somebody who actually has his blinders off and is truthfully with himself, hats off to you sir
Yes ... but the team needs to play much, much better. I am holding judgement till after ND game. I want to see how the team reacts to this when playing AF and UMass. If they improve like we expect, and your association of AL > anyone else we play, Michigan should BLOW these teams out of the water.
We shall see on Saturday. A starting point for me.

"Borges needs to unleash Denard more and earlier. And don't treat him as a pure pocket passer, fergodsakes."
I was asked by a friend last night an interesting question. Is Michigan focusing on winning the B10 as the next stepping stone, and not worrying about 'all the marbles' - so to speak? He asked this question, as it was clear Borges was holding DR back.
Yes, I think Michigan is focused on winning the B10. If the Alabama game had been closer, I think we see Borges unleash Denard. But what's the point of exposing your starting QB to significant injury risk in a game that's already out of reach? I guarantee part of Borges' thinking after we were down 21-0 was how to keep Denard healthy for the entire regular season.
