Today's game is huge.
Only 2 and a half hours to go until Burke puts Craft in a wheelchair! (from ankle breaking crossovers, if you couldn't figure out what I mean )
It'll be interesting to see how the freshman handle today's game. They've played on the road but nothing as hostile as today's game will be.
I am beyond excited for this game. I think the road environment will play a factor, but I think this team has experienced enough that it will not be that significant. I only think it will be key if Michigan gets down big early in the game. Typically when this happens, young teams can get rattled.
As far as the match-up that everybody's going to be watching. I think Trey Burke outplays Aaron Craft today. Ohio fans keep referencing some of Burke's struggles against him last year, but I think his ability to control the floor has really grown in the offseason and although Craft is a great defensive player, he has really been shut down all year on the offensive side. Even if Burke's contributions are decreased, which seems likely, Craft's offensive contributions are probably going to be even smaller as well. Burke doesn't always get the credit he deserves as a defender and I think he is going to come out on top over Craft today.
Finally, I think it's going to be key for Michigan's big men to avoid fouls inside and particularly against Deshaun Thomas. Yes, he's going to score, but the fact is that he is not very efficient with the basketball. Players like GR3 are incredibly efficient. They will take 10 or fewer shots and hit the vast majority. Thomas typically controls himself, but when the Buckeyes get down, he really just starts throwing stuff up. Most of these are going to miss, which is why you don't want to get him to the free throw line off these shots. I think Michigan's frontcourt will hold up pretty well, but Morgan has struggled with some fouls recently so I'm a little bit worried about this.
Overall, I think it's going to be a very tight game. It could very easily be decided by a possession today. If Michigan is going to win they either have to shut down Ohio defensively or they have to get off to a good start. I think we all know the Wolverines will not be overlooking the start of this one so I think that bodes well. Either way, it's going to be a great game.

I am going to the game. If you see a goofy Indian guy with a blue Michigan sweatshirt and blue M hat, it is probably me.
I'm really interested to see how Stauskas specifically can handle the crowd; if he has a good game today in front of a raucous arena, he could be on his way to a special season. Not saying he can't otherwise, but a good performance today could be a springboard going forward into the conference season.
Horford is suppose to be back today which will help if we have to go to a lineup with two bigs.
One hour to go!
I agree! Should be an awesome game.
Just my opinion but Stauskas seems like the type of kid that feeds off an opponents home crowd. The more they boo and yell at him the more he will want to shut them up. He just seems to have that type of personality.
Nerves are starting to kick in.
Damn this is a big game.
just my opinion but i dont feel like this game is going to be that close. Ohio States offense has been average at best this year. even defensively our team is not really comparable to recent seasons. i dont like saying this but it is easier to say about basketball teams then football teams, but Michigan has a much better basketball team this year and i think it will show on the court. but heres to hoping for a good competitive game
I'm a little bit concerned to be honest.
Looking at this game objectively, to me it has the same feel as Indiana/Butler, Arizona/Oregon, and most recently Duke/NC State.
Not saying we lose, but to me this game has that same feel.
Columbus is a very tough place to play, so that has to factor in somehow.
I agree and that is why i say we find out just how special Trey and Timmy are today. Great players feed off these type of games and find a way to win.
Stauskas will hit his fourth three and then look at the Ohio students and hit them with the
Thanks for the welcome! Should be around here a lot more in the future.
I'm glad Horford is back, but I wish he would have gotten more practice time before stepping into a game at OSU. Could be a rude awakening for him.
I think so too, but today will be the first real test of that. I'm just curious to see how he responds.
Only a few more minutes.
Game time. Having a great PG going in to an environment like this is a huge positive. I know it's cliche, but how we play until the 1st TV timeout is going to say alot about how this game is going to go.
I like that we have been able to see a lot of the pre-game speeches this season.
Trey Burke does Trey Burke things.
