Per the university, a deal has been reached for Michigan to play Cincinnati at the Big House in September of 2017.
Michigan basketball will then host the Bearcats in basketball in 2015 and 2018.
I think this is a great matchup (if you will). Especially for football as Cincinnati has been a pretty decent team the last few years. It is a much better game than playing EMU or another MAC team like usual.
Kudos to Dave Brandon.
Cool. Now go get us a home-and-home with Texas or UGA
Cincinnati has actually put together a pretty good basketball team and program as well. These should be a couple competitive games down the road. Good haul on both fronts in my book.

Correct. Michigan needs a Home-n-Home with a strong sports program. This would be a great topical list (wish list vs. realistic), and could include different lists (all football consideration vs. football + basketball consideration).
If considering both football and basketball, I could see FL, Ok State, UCLA, Oregon, etc. If it is an all-football consideration, then clearly a GA, AL, Oregon, USC, etc. I would not mind playing an Ole Miss and smacking them around, as recruits seems to be gravitating there for some reason.

Excited for these games, Michigan has always been my second favorite. Excited to make another trip back to the Big House! Somebody mentioned on twitter that the teams should wear the '92 throwbacks for the basketball games. I think that would be pretty cool.
I am also very excited about this series. I will be making the trip up to Ann Arbor and it will be great to play such a great institution in a fantastic stadium.
I think we have very competitive programs in both basketball and football and it should be a couple great contests to watch for fans of the game.

Cincinnati is hands down my favorite program in the state of Ohio. Looking forward to this one.
I think people haven't given Cincinnati the recognition deserves for its football program. It's one of only a handful of schools to reach 10 wins for the last 5 seasons. Granted, Cinci plays in the Big East but it's still pretty impressive.
And Cincinnati seems to do a nice job of hiring good coaches: Mark Dantonio, Brian Kelly, and recently Butch Jones.

to all the Bearcat fans! Should be a lot of fun and some great games!
Did undergrad at Xavier, so I despise UC almost as much as osu. It'll be nice to see U of M beat up on them too!
Almost too good of a job...
If I were a Bearcats fan, I think I'd have a lot of conflicted feelings about that. I suppose if other people want your coaches, then good stuff is happening.
Wish we could have gotten UM down to PBS in Downtown, but any close regional game is good for us Bearcat fans
(especially Ann Arbor in September) Have not been there since a Purdue-Michigan game when Brees and Brady were
QBs. We have games with Purdue, Illinois, and OSU. All easy drives for Bearcat fans.
The Basketball games should be great OOC draws also. Hope Michigan continues to win in BBall and Football.
Good luck vs. Kansas.
You will be surprised at how different the stadium and concourse is now. Completely different... almost unrecognizable.
I remember the old Cinci days when the Fab 5 played them in the tourney when they had Nick Van Excel...who esle did Cinci have in that era that was awesome? That had a decent stretch with huggins for about 15 yrs
Danny Fortson, Kenyon Martin, Ruben Patterson- dude had crazy hops!
ohio has been avoiding this for years... glad Michigan stepped in to play UC, it'll make for competitive games.
How do I get down-voted on this one? Is it because I wanted to play an Ole Miss in football and smack them down? Geez ....
If we win that football game by anything less then 2 touchdowns I will be dissapointed. Beating UC isn't something to beat your chest about. Wish we would schedule more Georgias, Auburns, and Oklahomas
