Defensively, Michigan has made their share of mistakes, but that honestly hasn't been the problem. This team is either taking questionable attempts or failing to finish at the basket. Morgan has missed several layups, Horford has missed some, Hardaway has missed some, and GR3 has missed a couple. If Michigan had made even half of these they would be up by a decent margin right now. On top of that, several players including Burke, Hardaway, and LeVert have been driving to the basket and attempting shots while being defending by 2+ players, which never is a good sign for converting.

The worrisome thing with this team is the tendency for these guys to freelance on offense and defense. There are stretches where they play "focused" team basketball but that's rarely sustained. We get a big lead and we start being all over the place, it's a tight late game scenario we start being all over the place. Terrifying shot selection, poor offensive structure, no coordination on defense. It's not a team out there once we get away from the gameplan.
Burke taking a terrible 3 point look for no reason except to prove a point. Ego, ego, ego.
Same problem game after game. The complete inability to stop runs. When things start going bad for us, they go bad in a hurry and we cannot recover.
In both psu and now this game, Michigan is just flat out getting outworked.
They don't want to be great lol.

Might have to turn this one off. I've seen this same song and dance the last few road games. No hustle, no boxing out, no defense, etc...
Hardaway has been atrocious for over a month now, he doesn't get nearly enough criticism.
I was coming on here to post just this. He is pathetic to watch tonight. I can't begin to explain how many errors I find in his game just by following him up and down the court. The only time he shows genuine aggression is when he has an opportunity to score, and is thus selfish in transition. When he plays defense, it's hard to believe he's been in college for three years.
No heart...we are road pussies
Why is LeVert such a liability on offense? I thought that was his greatest attribute coming into the year. I hate when he has control of the ball and I can't remember the last time he knocked down a 3.
They just aren't playing as a team, it's selfish play.
Don't worry guys, Purdue is only the 9th best team in the conference.
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
Does Stauskas even bother to pretend he plays defense?
Trying to find something positive about this game so far but just can't seem to find anything justified as "positive"...
I literally don't think there's a single thing that could go more wrong for us in this game.
I know we create our own luck, and I blame the team at this point, but it's mind blowing at the amount of plays/bounces are going in Purdue's favor. Every one of our 2 foot finger rolls have rimmed out, there must have been 10 consecutive in the first half. On the flip side, whatever Purdue puts up is going in, whether or not there's a lapse in the defense.
I just can't get over how much is wrong with the team and I still don't know if it's just because we're on the road. Is it the road environment or just playing away from Crisler?
When Burke is off we're not very good
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
MrWoodson will be on in a bit to "correct" that perception. I mean, what team *doesn't* get blown out by one of the conference's bottom feeders?
I'm perfectly fine with Burke taking the remainder of the shots in this game, FWIW.
Here is the positive: Purdue isn't as bad as Penn State.
IU now looks good in comparison. Reel it in Coach!
Why is it always about the offense? Almost everyone on this board always notices the few offensive mistakes and not the fact that Purdue has fifty plus points with ten minutes left. How many games have they scored over seventy points? Hardaway and Stauskus can't keep their guy out of the lane and our big man are slow and not physical enough on the glass. We need to play much better on that end of the floor!
If we lose this game, 100% chance we beat IU on sunday.
Our rebounding and defense is atrocious...mix that with Purdue making some great shots and we're getting mercked
Agreed. Defensively we are not working. Even if we were working, I'm just not sure its humanly possible for Stauskas to keep his man in front of him.
Offensively, there just seems to be so much standing around. I thought JBs offense was all about movement. No movement
I'm not worried...we'll pull this out of our ass and go absolutely HAM on sunday. We're just lulling IU to sleep with this game
