A name we told you about a really long time ago has finally gotten the offer.
I'm a fan. A big fan.
Me too. The question is, SAM or WILL? I think he makes a better WILL from his size and tape, but I imagine he could play either eventually.
Meh. This staff needs to be more patient. Still have better linebackers on the board. Looks like they want to fill the class up early just so they can focus on coaching in the fall again.
Like Darrion Owens? I agree with that. The others though? Not really sure who you're referring to really....
Dwight Williams? Dude doesn't even weigh 200 pounds haha
Yeargin? Seems like a long shot at best.
I can't think of many others off the top of my head??
If they are recruiting for a WILL, I disagree. Swain seems to have the instincts you want out of a WILL (which I wouldn't count on from Owens), and looks to have excellent size for the spot (which you don't get in Dwight Williams).
I like this offer a lot.
Owens and Williams.
I agree. I've been a Swain fan for a while, and I think he's a great fit for our remaining LB spot, since we already have our MIKE and SAM.
Also, Swain plays about 20 minutes from where I live, so if his recruitment heats up, I'm going to try to catch a game this fall, and I'll report back anything interesting I notice. He won't be playing against great competition, but the KC area churns out some pretty decent football players every year (IIRC, Ondre Pipkins played around here).
Yeah Owens...I agreed with that. Williams OTOH, eh, he is going to have pack on some major pounds IMO.

Owens, just got a Georgia offer wonder if that has anything to do with it.
What indication from the commitments obtained so far would lead you to believe they are wanting to fill up the class?
The coaches have arguably their top target at LB in ferns and filled their need in a Sam with chase. Any additional LB they get is a luxury so there is no incentive to just offer anyone to just fill the class.

yep... just offering guys to fill spots.
I read an article awhile back saying the coaches preferred to fill the class early so to be able to focus on the season in the fall.
I like this offer, only one i'd like more is owens. Still loving how this class is shaping up.
bolin, not uncommon for athletes to drop some weight in the offseason. dwight williams is by far the best LB michigan has a realistic shot with left on the board. he can tackle and cover really well. the coaches would accept his commitment in a second. if we end up taking a WILL, that's who i'd want

Correct, that is their preference just like a lot of coaches. Doesn't mean they are going to offer a kid just to fill up a class.
But... What you do get with Williams is Adoree Jackson... His BF and High School Teammate!
They're not a package deal. I agree that Williams would probably help with Adoree, but I'd be less concerned about that and more excited about making inroads into Cali. We need to recruit nationwide to be the best, and while we've broken into Florida and the DMV areas, Texas and Cali still haven't sent many players to Michigan recently. Cali especially needs to be a big target because of Hoke's time at SDSU and the relationships he developed locally then.
Anybody have an idea of the lb offers that are out, which ones have the most interest in us?
If I had to guess I would say Swain and/or Furbush.
It looked like Owens was up there too until he got the Georgia offer, but we will see.
Owens and Williams are probably the coach's first choice, but both are going to be hard to get.
Makes a lot of sense to offer a guy like Swain, and tell him to wait a while before committing.
Not sure if you were responding to Beast, but he was asking who has the most interest in UM.
I would think Owens is probably the top guy on the coaches list right now.
Williams is very good, but undersized. Obviously you can't ignore the Cali/Serra inroads that getting him would help with.
The Scout guys are saying that Furbush is the top choice.
Technically, I think those guys are saying that they would take any of the 3 of Furbush, Swain, Owens. First one to commit may get that spot. They do really like Furbush.....(the UM staff).
Thanks for the responses! Seems to me Furbush had the most interest but I figured that might have just been because of his proximity to campus as opposed to the others. That being said, I really like Swain or Owens but if Williams jumping aboard would help with Adoree I'm all for it.
I'm not going to bring up any names, but I don't want to see that sorta arrangement come up again.
If you don't want him to commit yet, don't offer.
