That is all
Well, it is a tradition for us to lose on Thanksgiving.
Absolutely terrible play-calling. And Brandon Pettigew sucks.
They don't suck, but it would actually be better if they did. Wouldn't get duped into watching the entire game and having the loss be so disappointing week after week. Very creative in finding ways to lose, I'll give them that.

Yeah that's the problem with this team, it suckers you in, it finds new ways to lose every week. There's such a "losers mentality" to that club and I don't think it will ever go away as long as the Ford family owns them.
Question for the Lion fans. Why is Schwartz still the coach?
Because he took over a 0-16 team and got them to the playoffs last year. This is really the first year they are performing under expectations.
Now with that said I do not believe Schwartz is the guy to take them to the next level.
This is the 'Minnesota' syndrome.
You have a team that is a bottom dweller, and the current coach has made them at least competitive. And people want him fired.
I don't know about the next level yet. I say another year or two.
For me it's not even the win loss record, its more the undisciplined attitude this team has on and off the field.
That does start at the top, look at the Harbaugh thing last year, then look at how he lost his composure today with the review flag.
Generally, this team loses its nerves so easily.
They are not underachieving in my opinion. I expected this team tk win 8 or 7 games this year. They have a lot of pieces but they need two more play makers in the secondary and one to two play making linebackers with one to two olineman to compete at super bowl level. Thats a lot to add
Made the playoffs last year. Worse this year. Equals a step back in my opinion which means they are underachieving.
I would accept that in general and it's not about Super Bowl level competing. But this team may well end the year 5-11 (seriously, look at the schedule and tell me where they get 3-4 more wins to get to 7 or 8) and that's a long way from being even in the playoff picture. This team does have the talent to be .500 and with a bit of luck a 9-7/10-6 type team. But they won't be that this year, not even close.
And then look at how many games they've been in this year where it was a couple bad plays, bad decisions that cost them the game. It's not like they got played off the field by Green Bay or Houston either. Where the key players on those teams executed key plays, the Lions fell apart on key plays.
I tend to agree Willy but I am not a big lions fan, really nfl period. They seem to have a lot of talent but penalties and stupid decisions cost them games.
Atleast we get to root for better draft picks....lets be honest, we were not going to make a long playoff run anyways, so the best way to get better right now to achieve our goals is through acquiring better players at positions of need in the draft...the one caveat is this does not work if Matt Millen is in your front office.
This, x's infinity. Complete lack of discipline. Too many questionable picks (character issues or injury history). The team of mayhew and Schwartz pulled us out of the millen era but I think that anyone with minimum 2 brain cells and 2 games experience playing tecmo bowl (dating myself with that one) could have done so.
Only problem is mayhew absolutely refuses to draft based on needs, only picks best available.
That's not really a huge problem, teams that are always drafting for need generally don't do as well in the draft.
It is a problem if your team has a few glaring weaknesses that keep you from being competitive i.e. Lions secondary.
Yeah i understand that. Thats a good point, i just didnt see them doing much this year.
Does anyone hate our drafting style as much as me?
We need to draft best available at a position of need....such as CB, OL, RB, LB etc....
