its sacrilege but IF he continues this he could be Bo.
I say this b/c of what he has done so far and what he has been hired to do.
Schembechler will always be the modern patriarch of Michigan football.
But I do think Hoke can surpass Schembechler in achievements if he wins multiple National Championships AND has a winning record against Meyer/Ohio.

Think of the prior situation and his potential.
I do think that Hoke can surpass Schembechler in legacy (rather than *just* achievement) but Hoke would need to do A LOT of things simply to overcome Schembechler's mythology.
You have to understand that there is tremendous sentimental value surrounding Schembechler. For instance, he never won a National Champion, struggled against USC in Rose Bowls, and lost to Earle Bruce's Ohio teams in Michigan Stadium multiple times. But the latter two is never brought up. It is simply glossed over.
However, you are correct (imo) when you mention his potential. The situation sets up nicely. IF (and that's a big if) Hoke does win a "10 year war" against Meyer AND wins multiple National Championships during that span, then yes Hoke could surpass Schembechler.
Agreed but look at my avatar.
I would rather him be the next Yost tbh.
Go Blue and Go Titans!
Dude. Multiple MNCs? I appreciate your enthusiasm but let's keep it real. ONE team and ONE coach wins the title each year. Very very few are fortunate enough to even PLAY in more than one.
I love Michigan and Coach Hole as much as the next fan, but he's not winning multiple national championships.
Did you actually understand what I wrote?
Moreover, do you understand what "if" means?
This is why I hesitated to start the thread, but I am so pleased with everything Hoke to date. I love Bo, but he lead by example, not necessarily on the scoreboard. (He did not win a lot of bowl games)
