Sam Webb @SamWebb77
And to be clear, @TyIsaac has never declared a desire to be the only back in any class ($)
Who do you guys want more?
Its a hard choice but I have to go with Smith.
Be sure to check out the full 10 minute highlights of Smith that I linked below.
The youngest Smith brother is the quintessential power back the type that takes pleasure in running through opponents and in always falling forward. But as his skills evolved over the last year, he managed to add a hint of elusiveness to his game.
I'd prefer Issac but Smith also looks like a hell of a prospect.
What's wrong with a man giving away a golden shower? Sounds like a nice gift to me.
I'm greedy so I want both. Isaac is first for me, though.
I personally like Isaac better because he has much better speed but can also break some tackles. Deveon is almost a perfect fit in our system so either would be fine.
Ty Isaac is a unique talent. Size, sprinter speed, great hands. But he does run upright, and his highlight video doesn't show what he does when a hole doesn't open up. That's a risky venture when you plan on feeding him 20-25 carries a game.
Deveon Smith actually reminds me, in a way, of Fitz. Not elite speed, but the vision and control to consistently pick up a few extra yards.
I think in the end that Smith fits Borges offense better, but Isaac is the better of the two. I am not gonna take either for granted, and I would be delighted if either of em decided to go blue.
Wow. I usually avoid highlight tapes because they can be so deceiving, but that was impressive. Great vision, ability to break tackles, and he looked plenty explosive enough hitting the hole.
I don't care either way at first I wanted Issac then the more I have seen Smith he looks more and more the role of our system.
You really cant go wrong here, I would rather have the home-run hitter in Issac but this is a 100% Win-Win.
I was sold after I watched that 10 minute clip.
I love Isaac but there are some concerns with the competition he faces and his running style.
Deveon Smith is a perfect fit in our system and has tremendous balance, vision, and power.
the way I look at it is whoever we get will do very well behind the bulldozers we have up front. Not worried about RB more concerned with not getting a gamebreaker on the outside someone who will keep the defense honest so they cant stack the box. I know that we are in on a few good ones but time will tell if we land any.
Ive only watched 1 film on Green and the only thing that I didnt like was his tackle breaking ability he seemed to go down at first contact but like I said I believe the RB situation will take care of itself whoever we get will do very well
I've been watching any film I can find on all three - Isaac, Green and Smith. I completely agree with you about Smith - I personally think he's a better fit because of his ability to break tackles and his quick 2nd & 3rd steps.
Isaac is phenomenal and Green is a true bruising back that reminds me of A-Train.
Either way - I love that we are in the hunt for three complete studs!
After watching that highlight video, I must admit that I'm really beginning to like Deveon. True, he does not have elite level speed, but dunn was also not considered a burner and we place large amounts of effort trying to get him. The only difference I see between Deveon and dunn is the height. Deveon is lower to the ground and looks compact when running in between tackles...defensive nightmare to take down from what I can see.
As for Isaac....I want him to go Blue as well. Can't really teach some of the skills he possesses for a RB. He can outrun everyone once he gets clear and the big body will be difficult to take down as well. He does appear to run upright which appears to be a negative when considering him.
Either way we appear to have a win-win situation. I will be happy with whomever goes blue. I will be ecstatic if we get both!
1. DeVeon Smith
2. Ty Isaac
If we can take both, let's take both.
Isaac's frame suggests that he can 15-25 lbs. of muscle. I think if he does that then he will become much more physical. However, I often find that "being physical" is more a function of mentality than body type.

I want them both....Thunder and Lightning! Zeus and Apollo! I can not post it from phone, but please, please youtube Tyrone Wheatley...speed, power and ran upright. Look it up. Wheatley also went to A lower level High school in terms of competition. Isaac can be the next Tyrone...Look up Wheatleys Youtube and decide

Hail to the VICTORS!!
Ok Ok Ok.....I want De'Veon Smith more than any other RB. It's like trying to bring down a Rhino...kid is straight beast. Who cares about his homerun ability when he's punishing defenses and moving chains. I'll worry about all our WR's being the homerun threats.
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
His running style is a lot like Chris Polk of Washington
Smith just doesn't give me that "wow" factor like Ty Issac does. Issac is the better player so I want him more. Would love both though.
Take both, break a pool cue in half, and drop the sharper half between the two of them, Dark Knight-style. Let them settle it between themselves.
Did you watch the highlights?
Yes. Issac jumps off the screen whereas Smith looks like a good player but unspectacular. There's a reason Ty Issac is a top 5 RB on every site. Don't get my wrong I really want both guys, but comparing the two it's not really that close.
Totally. Has nothing to do with Ty Issac's tape. No way.
Tryouts... Make it fast.
I like them both. Smith reminds me alot of a bigger Mike Hart. I would prefer a faster Mike Hart but bigger is nice too. Would like to see more film of Isaac breaking tackles. Only tackles he breaks are arm tackles when he cuts back on somebody. Nice to see he has the ability to do that but still.
What I don't understand is how Smith is only a 3 star.
