Michigan State should've gone to BCS games in 1999, 2010 and 2011. We continue to get screwed over by a , outdated system that rewards team's fanbase being larger over actual performance on the field.
1999: UM and MSU nine wins each. MSU beats UM. UM goes to Orange Bowl. Seems fair.
2010: MSU 11-1 same record as Wisconsin. Wisconsin goes to Rose Bowl, MSU no BCS game. Seems fair.
2011: MSU 11 wins most in the conference, MSU wins Legends and thrashes UM, plays an outstanding team for the second time and loses by three. UM backs into the Sugar Bowl. Really fair.
Just because you have more hillbillies in your fanbase shouldn't mean that determines if you get to go to a better bowl or not. The whole system is stupid and plays favorites. Anyone denying that is full of

Please chill with the language.
Well I guess its a slam dunk then. Its obvious MD didn't have any contact with him after the tweets or via other communication.
All i read in this post was a whole lot of this
Right. Why bother to break it down and tell me why I'm wrong
Because i don't care. All i saw was a whole lot of whining which Sparty fans seem to be doing a whole lot of these days.
You would also know if you were following earlier than a few weeks ago that he's always tweeted when a new coach or program has contacted him, for weeks he was COMPLAINING about getting calls from teams, Alabama being one he mentioned multiple times.
You lost the B1G championship game. When your destiny is entirely in your hands, you don't have anyone else to blame.
Michigan took advantage of its chance when it won the Sugar Bowl. MSU didn't take advantage of theirs. Don't come crying because your team failed to execute.
ok more than normally.
I don't really see how that proves anything, we both won our bowlgames and arguably we beat a better team in our bowl game. Winning the sugar bowl doesn't justify why the system sent you there. It also doesn't address any of the other examples he mentioned.
Honestly though, BCS bowls don't matter to me unless they are the Rosebowl, and yeah, we lost fair and square to Wisconsin and missed our chance, I was at the game in Indy, it was heartbreaking. But can you actually sit there and say we didn't have successful seasons when in 2010 we were kept out of the Rosebowl only so OSU could still go to a bowl game before it was put on probation? That was our Rosebowl, and you're right, we don't go very often so it does matter to me that it was taken from us. But after losing the chance to go to Pasadena, all that matters to me is that we get to play a good opponent, and we did and won.
Looks like I got under their skin. Seems I've still got it...
Over the last 15 years, Michigan has been to 5 BCS Bowls.
That's 1 every 3 years. So even when we're not winning Big Ten, we're still going places.
Btw, congrats on MSU's 2 game bowl winning streak. When was the last time that happened?
(I know the answer. Just wondering if Sparty fans know it as well...)

'99 and '01; Citrus Bowl vs. Florida and now-defunct Silicon Valley Classic vs. Fresno State. Didn't make a bowl in '00, hence "preserving" the bowl W streak from the '99 season.
Ironically enough, UM's last bowl W streak only lasted till the 2000 season (2001 Citrus Bowl). UM is 3-7 in bowls since then.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Well, I like Urban's chances of "catching up" LIke with Pittman last year, he caught up in all of one phone call...
Not saying Harris will end up at OSU, but if he decides to only play football, he won't be at MSU...BTW, it lists Izzo as his recruiter for you....Dantonio turning over the recruiting to the best man or what??
Getting under my skin is getting a rational response out of me that didn't badmouth, attack or attempt to troll you UM fans? But instead just explained what happened that season that made us not go to the Rosebowl.
If you guys prefer to not have a rational discussion I can leave you guys here alone with Punisher, he's just here to troll and argue anyways, I actually enjoy discussion if you're up for it.
I wonder if State will extend its bowl winning streak to 3 games.
Hilarious fact: it has never happened in State's history.

The Pittman situation was completely different, he was an Ohio kid, OSU fan, wanted to go to OSU and only leaned towards MSU because they didn't have a head coach. We were lucky to get a kid that interested in OSU to look at us in the turmoil.
Drake Harris is from Michigan, has been talking with the Michigan State coaches and Damion Terry for longer than any other school and hasn't said anything about commuting elsewhere. The situation isn't at all comparable to Pittman. I'm not saying that we will 100% end up with his LOI, but we're still ahead of everyone else at this point, and he said great things about his last visit going to the MSU bball game with the other recruits in his year, as well as lots of praise for our coaching staff.
He didn't seem to be complaining about Urban (only one I can speak of since it's my team) since he's going to take an official visit, camp at OSU this summer....Let me save you some heartache Sparty, plan on him NOT coming to MSU, that way when he does choose OSU or UM you'll be a lot less frustrated.
I always enjoy hearing State fans complain about why their beloved Spartans didn't go to a BCS Bowl Game.
"Spartan tears taste like sugar."

My whole point is.....If he's committed.....why is he taking calls, going to take visits.....going to camp at OSU....etc...
I think, and JMO, he committed early to MSU because he wanted to play both FBall and BBall and that was an option at MSU. It's NOT an option at OSU as the workout program for FBall is not going to allow him to miss it for BBall...Once he says he's just going to play FBall, I'm sorry, but there are better options for what many have said is possibly the #1 WR in the country. He may not end up in the BIG at all, but I don't think he'll stick with MSU just for football if he goes that route.
It is easy to see why BCS bowls don't mean anything to you. MSU joins Indiana, Minnesota and Northwestern as schools from the B1G to never make a BCS bowl. Tells us everything we need to know about your program.
Did you really think I didn't know the circumstances that prevented State from going to the Rose Bowl after the 2010 regular season?
LOL @ you if the answer is "yes."
You know Dantonio saw him in person last Friday right?
Lol @ you if you think I am not aware that you're just being an ass for the sake of eliciting a response. And go ahead and delete my posts when I haven't said anything inappropriate in this thread.
Since when do you have to win the B1G to get a Rose Bowl berth?
