I’m hoping this offense look’s a lot like Stanford’s/SF’s in the future though, but with better athlete’s at WR. Imagine what that offense could have been if Luck actually had receivers to throw to bedside’s his TE’s.
I'm hoping to start seeing some development with our OL. Wisconsin couldn't run on the ball on Northern Iowa in the beginning of the year. They fire their OL coach and as the year goes on they get better and better. Last night they put up over 500 yards rushing. Their running backs look stronger and better in sync with the line as well.
Our OL has been mediocre at best all year with no real improvement especially in the run game. Now we have to play another SEC team in a bowl game, not looking good IMO.
Jackson and Funk need to start showing something here with the RUNNING BACKS, RUNNING THE FOOTBALL.
Our interior line was ugly this year. Lewan and Schofield were solid. Remember that Bryant likely would have started if not injured.
The massive difference between 2011 and 2012 is easy: Molk.
That said, when Hoke talks about manball, he is looking at Bama. That is the goal. I think it is reachable, but we are far aways from that yet.
Lets just hope our recruits turn out then there's a chance, may no have the speed of bamas line though
With the way UM and Hoke are recruiting, I see no reason why your offense won't run the ball like Bama was. But keep in mind, it was against a run defense that ranks 81st in the country and 12th in the SEC. While playing 8 teams with a losing record, and 1 FCS school. Not exactly the elite defense the CFB pundits would have you believe.
Bama's starting 5 OL.. from left to right
5 star (#1 OT in nation),
4 star (#1 C in nation)
5 star (#1 OT in nation)
Michigan has the #10 tackle, #5 guard, #7 guard, possibly #6 guard, and #2 center in the nation coming in for the 2013 class. In addition to that haul, last year's class had the #4 guard, #6 tackle, and a couple 3* tackles with offers from some of the top programs in the nation.
