Its crazy to think of all the players he has coached that has been arrested. He either chooses to recruit these players or has no control over his program.
Starting in 2009, the Orlando Sentinel compiled a list of Florida football players arrested or charged with a crime since coach Urban Meyer took over six years ago. The original list was published
I mean why dump the body so close to the house, then the dumb things like the cleaning crew, cellphone, security system destroyed. And he just signed a $40 million extension.
Nah, that’s probably over.
Now everyone’s going to be the next Percy .
Bad taste, man. Let's not forget that Urban Meyer is a person like the rest of us, and he's learning that a kid he spent years with may have committed murder. Human decency should come before football trash talk.
Seriously? you can grab a similar list of ANY football program outside of the Ivy League that would resemble that list. They are FOOTBALL players which are nothing more than our modern age gladiators that we enjoy watching beat the living crap out of each other. Bar fights, etc are the norm and while I don't excuse their behavior it shouldn't come as a shock nor should it be used as any sort of measuring stick for football programs.
Gateway to Heaven on Earth
I have sympathy for the victim. I have no sympathy for Meyer, he's a person only in the basic sense of the word.
Why you hating?
So your coach has put WHO in the league? He can hold what crystal trophy??? Don't get me wrong I hate the Gators and hate using any analogy from that team but reality is reality. Urb has coached and produced with all types of players and wherever he has been. Kids looks at that stuff.
Sure, every program has had its players arrested... but not that many, and not for murder lol. There's tons of articles and stories on this, its not just speculation.
I’m not hating, and I didn’t bring up anything about CUM's accomplishments or his ability as a coach. I just think it’s funny how CUM compare’s almost anyone to either Tebow, Percy, or Hernandez.
Now since Aaron probably killed a guy that’s over. You never know though he could get off like Ray Ray did.
We are no longer recruiting the Hernandez position, so please refrain from using that phrase or moniker.. All association or contact with Mr
I have to imagine it's a combination of the two, but a lot of it has to do with Meyer seemingly taking the best possible players he can get, regardless of character issues. The fact that 2 of his 2012 recruits have already been kicked out of school for character issues and the 2013 season hasn't even started yet is pretty astounding.
It'd be interesting to see what would've happened with his Florida teams if he hadn't had possibly the highest-character guy ever to play QB in the SEC.
It's ridiculous to take the Hernandez situation and try to tie it to Meyer. Can't believe you would tolerate it, let alone join in on it. Hernandez originally committed to UConn, so does this say something about Randy Edsall? How about the other schools that recruited him? How about Belichick and the Patriots organization for drafting him? If Hernandez is indeed guilty of an execution style murder, then I highly doubt Meyer putting him in the doghouse would have made any sort of difference whatsoever
Lulz trying to make an argument based on no facts at all. Sour because your coach is a terrible human being evaluator and person on top of it
I'm just simply stating that a large number of Urban's players have been arrested. I'm in no way saying that Urban is responsible for Hernandez's crime but he has recruited a lot of players that other programs would have said no to because of character concerns.
Also, Edsall had no choice but to recruit Hernandez. He was the best player to ever come out of CT and you have to land the best players in your state. This was Edsall's big opportunity because CT never produces players.
So you first say that Meyer "either chooses to recruit these players or has no control over his program" then say Edsall had no choice but to recruit Hernandez because his talent outweighed everything else. You can't have it both ways.
Is it fair to say a lack of discipline for talented players is a cause for concern and reflects poorly on Meyer? Yes. Is it appropriate to post Meyer's player's arrest records at UF in a thread openly joking about how he will recruit flex TEs now that Hernandez has been charged with murder? Not if it's meant to be taken seriously, because it could only be implying one thing.
Aaron Hernandez will stand trial for an unspeakable act of evil. Dragging Ohio State into this is very Sparty-like.
Urban Meyer is trash the guy doesn't give a dam about his player's all he cares about is winning and O$U fans don't seem to mine that. After all this is the same school that gave Jim Tressel a standing ovation for cheating. Nothing wrong with that just own it like Miami does. I can't help but laugh when I read about recruits saying they wanna play for Urban cause he cares about them lol. What mom would ever want her son to play for this lying scumbag?
Oh, the irony of a Bucknut coming over to question a staff member's professionalism.
Urbie Liar is a POS. He doesn't care about kids off the field problems, all he cares about is winning.
You must have missed the OSU twitter war. That just happened within the last week.
Didn't the Bucknuts staff just engage in a big pointless argument with another site over Jalyn Holmes?
As compared to laughing at murder?
If you think he was laughing at murder, you aren't very bright.
