To all the buckeyes who think they will just get back to the same type of ball that was played when Tressel was in charge WAKE UP!! Urban needed quite possibly the best player ever in college football to win at UF, a team that recruited the lights out of OSU!! Once Tebow left, Urban failed miserably. For those that think he's just gonna come into the B1G and run the show you are highly delusional. Braxton, yes, a great talent is no Tebow or Alex Smith. Urban's staff have shown no ability to develop talent like the staffs at Iowa, Wisconsin, or MSU have. The B1G as a whole is no longer scared of Mighty OSU. Spread offenses do not sustain in the B1G, just ask UM, MSU, PU, and ILL.
If MSU loses this year I'll come back to eat crow, but I was also the same guy that asked you OSU fans last year what would happen if MSU won in cbus and 98% of you gave Dantonios squad (the man that delivered your only recent championship) zero chance. I didn't come and gloat, I like talking football.... But to act like UM (wow his initials are the same as your arch rivals) is going to take a 6 win team and make them undefeated with a tougher schedule I'd have to ask, what are you smoking!?
My father and 2 of my best friends are huge buckeyes and to be quite honest, OSU was respectable and a team I'd root for over Michigan. But lately the mix of Clarett, Pryor, Meyer, and the majority of the buckeye fan base' we're Osu, we're the best, and everyone else is beneath us is just sickening! I hope Meyer fails miserably, not for the players who work their butts off, but for the disgraceful fans OSU has been recently known for and the attitude of Meyer himself.
It's a shame Tressel stood up for a couple dumbass athletes you had.... That was a man of character, one that should make a University and conference proud. but you(Osu) are no longer his, and your football team has now become hated by all because of a man that will likely be gone once Braxton has moved on. You are no longer the juggernaut you we're just a short time ago.
That is a great rant! +1 man! That's what I like to hear. See, Spartans and Wolverines can have a common enemy.
Most sparty fans like Ohio, and root for them in the game
Yeah. It was kind of refreshing to hear. I wish they took Ohio more seriously. Some do but you're right, not enough of them do.
Its that whole inferiority complex...sans the most prolific last 4 years in the programs history, they want us to lose against our #1 rival
Nice rant, I am getting rather nauseated with Herbstreit and ESPN saying it's only going to be a year before O$U are in the NC hunt, and it would have been this year but they are on probation. I just don't see it, that offensive line doesn't look like a NC contender to me. Meyer must have some inside info on the Herbstreit divorce.
This would be an argument acceptable by a Wolverine maybe. But Sparty let's be serious here. I mean come on. You have had a couple of good years. That's right. A COUPLE. Not a long times worth. A COUPLE. Last years bowl win was the first in how long again? Enlighten me. Please. When you put together a long streak and are considered above average in college football lore, come back and post. Until then, leave this kind of stuff to OSU, Michigan, Texas, Florida, Alabama, and USC fans.
All of college football

Where did I say MSU was at the top or the best at anything? I was stating my opinion of UM( the coach) and the fans of OSU.
As for rooting for Osu over UM( the team), after having lived in south fl for nine years and dealing with generally good UM fans(most likely alum) and seeing in general how cocky and brash Osu fans were in the same times, I became a little more tolerant of UM(the team) being I'm from Michigan as well. Hoke is a decent enough guy, and you're right, until you're beating up on is again why hate UM(the team)? I'll be there for the game this year, so cheers!
cool story bro.
Nice little rant,. MSU is not only irrelevant to Ohio State, but to all college fans.
So you can go cry, and finger your ass hole I don't care. Ohio State, and Michigan University runs the BIG, and don't you ever forget.

C'Mon sparty fan...why is it so hard to hear that OSU will be in the title hunt in 2013? They have the best team (on paper) in the conference and based on recruiting rankings will have for a few more years. Obviously games aren't won based on recruiting ranks, but they are a measure for sustainability of the program. Last years record isn't exactly a good basis for determining the potential for the team. We had to replace a bunch of key starters and had a coaching staff that was completely overwhelmed. MSU was only marginally better than OSU with Bauserman at QB, you didn't even see Braxton. I'm not trying to say that OSU will continue to dominate the conference like we did under Tressel, I don't think anyone will, but you are acting like we have suffered a serious downgrade in the coaching department. Urban is no worse than the second best B1G coach and I would say the top, although Hoke certainly could make a push with a few more years like last year. OSU has a very good staff and is going to continue to get top 10 recruiting classes, there's no reason to think we aren't going to be right at the top of the conference every year. Does that mean we win it every year? No. But I tend to agree with the above poster, you had better prepare yourself for the reality that Michigan and OSU are going to be at the top of this conference for the foreseeable future.
There is a Sparty vs Bucknut argument breaking out on a Michigan board..
This is down right funny. Urban Meyer will dominate the conference, get used to it.
They don't believe in recruiting rankings until they get a 5 star or 4 star then that player is the bees knees.
Urban will never dominate Michigan the way JT did because he's just too arrogant. I just don't see Urban having the respect for Michigan JT did.
I'm not sure it has to do with arrogance so much as Tressel was just that much better than Carr and Rich Rod. I currently think that Urban is a good bit better than Hoke, although Hoke could easily catch up with an early win or two over Urban at OSU. Don't get me wrong, I think Hoke is going a fantastic job for you guys, its just going to take another year like last year to prove to me that it wasn't a fluke type thing, not that you guys care about my opinion lol. I just don't think we collectively will see the kind of dominance that Tressel had in conference again by anyone. Buckeye fans who think that Urban is going to outperform, or even match Tressel is either a homer, delusional, or both imo. I just don't think a lot of OSU fans appreciate how special the Tressel era was for OSU. Urban will be very good imo, but I just don't see Tressel level dominance from anyone again.
...and Urbs will never cheat to the extent that the vest did
It's already started we are pillaging your state again and kicking your a$$ on the field. I think the record for the rest of the decade is UM 7, o$u 1. It will be a mixture of Bruce and Cooper, what a recipe for getting your a$$ kicked.

we also have to wait a few years, like the 2014 season and more ideally the 2015 season for the roster to be full of Hoke recruits, along with having depth with the Hoke recruits
Ok dude, I will attempt to respond to this in a way that you will understand, so try to keep up. firstly I love your statement about the staff, that was assembled this year and already has no ability to develop talent. what is your basis for this statement? so are you saying urban meyer had nothing to do with the development of tim tebow, or alex smith? glad you waited a few seasons to pass judgement on the yet unproven coaching staff. now on to your comments about the spread. michigans difficulties were on the defensive side, not so much on offense. had rich rod left a perfectly good defense alone, they would have been just fine with the amount of talent they are able to pull. purdue, just has a lack of talent from top to bottom, so depth is always an issue. if memory serves me, osu would run spread formations with troy smith, and it worked just fine. and on to your point about taking a 6 win team, and going undefeated, I believe it was tress who took a 7 win team and did just that a year later. now I am not one of these who thinks that that is likely to happen, but I wasn't expecting it either. I like how you bring up former players, as if you guys havn,t had issues in the past. as far as spewing your hatred for the buckeyes, keep it going, it keeps us warm at night.
I know you missed me, but let me point out some fatal flaws in this guy's thinking.
First off, on the Urban's staff comment. Luke Fickell was the linebackers coach or co-backers (don't know which, but he was at least partly responsible for the last 10 years linebackers). I'm sure we can agree they were better than Iowa, WIsconsin. or MSU's backers over the last decade. Can we agree on that? Okay good. Everett Wither's was the DC at UNC and was partly responsible for the good to great UNC defenses during his tenure. Coombs has been a high school coach, Colerain's coach to be exact. They're a pretty good high school football team, Right? Tom Herman was responsible for the offensive explosion by Rice and Iowa State. That QB that beat Okie State said his growth was directly tied to Herman's coaching. Warrnier was the O-line coach at Kansas when the went 12-0 and the O-line coach for ND the past few years. He's known all over the coaching world as a guy who can do more with less. Drayton was the running-back coach at Florida during Meyer's tenure. They were decent. The juries still out on Mikie V, and Zach Smith. Smith showed potential at Temple and Marshall. This evidence can be disputed by saying, their previous coaching stops do not equal Ohio States or Your guy's level. Which is true (All except for Fickell). What cannot be disputed is that this evidence does point to the fact that they can develop talent.
You guys have had little to no problem with the spread. Your offense was just fine. Purdue's and NW's problem is lack of talent but other than that. Their offenses are fine. Nebraska's spread work alright. So, the spread won't work in the B1G is just a myth. The offenses aren't the problem the talent and defense are.
The tougher schedule comment is just laughable. Have you seen our schedule? To say tough is way overstating it. Kinda like saying my high school football team is a tougher opponent than Massilon (My team went 1-9 that season, btw)
The fan comment is a matter of one's opinion and perspective as is Tressel being a man of character. I think he's a great man btw.
Oh yeah- I told you guys that I would come back and apologize if Dymonte didn't flip. I'm sorry. I believed the wrong guy.

Who said he wasn't flipping? meyer is slow playing him. dymonte will flip. If urban wants, urban gets.
