I know there is a ton of hate for Drew Sharp and the Free Press (and rightfully so), but I thought it would be funny to post this Drew Sharp article from almost 2 years ago where he details why Michigan and MSU hoops can never be good at the same time. After sharing the Big Ten championship last year and heading into the first ever Top 10 matchup between the two teams, it's just funny to read this.
I am guilty. I admit it. I was one of those who bought into the hyperbole that Michigan and Michigan State could one day create a poor man's Tobacco Road.

LOL. I generally try to avoid Drew Sharp articles, but I'd be interested to see him take a look at this article again and give a new commentary.
I think it's much easier to maintain 2 basketball programs at high levels than 2 football programs. 2 or 3 guys can change a program for a long time in hoops, and Michigan was able to get those guys. It doesn't look like the recruiting is slowing down either. I think we'll be able to see Michigan and msu both play at high levels over the next several years.
I never read his stuff. Avoid it.

Some sparty slappy? I don't live in MI.
Sharp is the worst
Oh yeah, not a fan in the slightest. I just distinctly remember this article being terrible. That's why I thought it was appropriate for today
No. He's one of those guys who just writes articles that generate comments. He'll troll any fan base he can to get clicks on his links. Michigan fans think he hates Michigan, msu fans think he hates msu, when really he doesn't care about anyone. Conversely, when he writes articles slamming either Michigan or msu, the other side is usually chiming in with "Drew Sharp nailed this article!" comments.
Best advice is just don't click his articles. That said, I do remember this article being ridiculous back when he wrote it.
Looks like his insight wasn't so sharp this time. Hahahaha.
