Can't say mine have. Always knew that it would take a perfect game against Bama to win it, and anything worse than a "great" game by us could result in a blowout. We had a ton of drops, a couple of bad throws, and some missed tackles that certainly didn't help our cause. Looking forward, there's no other game on the schedule that we'll have to play perfectly to have a chance. The Countess injury hurts, but looking at the schedule there's no receiver that I see that scares me to the point where I think Floyd and Avery cannot handle it.
Fact of the matter is I still expect us to have the same result going forward, beating Air Force, UMass, Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Iowa.
Splitting with ND, msu, Nebraska, and o$u still results in a 9-3 season. 3-1 and you're talking about another 10-2 season and no one's thinking about the Alabama game anymore.

No. My expectations have not changed.
The goal was to win the B1G Championship this year regardless of what happened in the Alabama game. I still think that this team is capable of accomplishing that goal.

I feel the same. I knew that if Bama looked or played like a team ready to defend their national title we would not win and it would probably be ugly. Michigan is not a national championship caliber team now and it all honesty it's not fair to think Hoke should have them at that point right now. The last couple of years have shown that it doesn't take a national championship caliber team to win the Big Ten so I believe Michigan is very capable of competing for and winning the Big Ten and go to the Rose Bowl.
How does a loss to bama change a thing?
The Big Ten title is the goal. Nothing's changed.
A lot of fans saw us go 11-2 last yr and had unrealistic expectations in general of what this team is and will be this yr. We beat the teams we were supposed to beat last yr against a weaker B1G compared to years past. We lost key players going into team 133 and folks let the 11-2 cloud the fact that this current team is made up of guys who talent-wise aren't up to par for what we need to be elite. Even saying all of that, I think with our current players and exceptional coaches we are still good enough to win the B1G. But fact of the matter is the players on this team are mostly RR players who have pitfalls athletically and are undersized. If anything this game gave me perspective of where 2013 and 2014 guys will be needed because we won’t potentially be an elite factor until Hoke’s 4th yr when his 2012 class are seniors. Ranking aren't the end all but they are a pretty decent barometer for talent and if you look at our class ranks over the last 5 yrs you'll see why I don't expect much until Hoke's 4th yr.

LSU was the best team for the entire yr until the last game and they were dominated by a Bama team that just reloads every yr, so I’m not sure why anyone would put any stock on this game more than just giving you an idea on where we need to be in the future at all positions.

It couldn't really change them because everyone being realistic expected a loss in this game, but I'd lie if I said it hasn't somewhat darkened my mood when it comes to Michigan's chances this year.
It has definitely made me acutely annoyed at the decision to schedule this game whereas before this game I was just a bit apprehensive about it.
My expectations weren't a national title so this game didn't change that but it did concern me going forward. My biggest fear is Michigan plays like crap against AF and they allow Bama to beat them twice. A B1G title is still possible but unless Denard and those receivers get it going it's going to be a tough year. I think we should have an idea where we're at after ND. Luckily for us we don't play a division game until MSU so there's still time to develope.
The Bama loss has no effect on how I feel. The only reason my expectations have changed is because of Countess. Losing Countess could be a huge loss down the line if we come across a successful pass-heavy team and/or our backups don't step up. I would rather have lost 80-0 and have him healthy this season than to repeat what happened. He was most likely our best defensive player, you do not replace that.

No. The goal was always to win the B1G and build from there. I am concerned about the rest of the season. Some games maybe closer then I thought.
I never expected us to win this game. I had us as a 3 TD underdog, which prompted my friends to call me crazy - among other names.
We can still have a fine season, but need to show sharp improvements in the AF game. We cannot let the AL drubbing last any longer than this week. Use it as a learning tool this week, and then move on after the AF game. Michigan needs to establish line dominance, the run game, a passing game, and consistent D-Back play. We want to move into the ND game firing on all pistons.

Season starts next week...Nobody will remember the Bama game if we're playing in the B1G championship in November. 0-0 in my mind starting next weekend.
This is probably the best wasy to look at it. Learn from it and don't dwell on it.
The only thing that has changed for me is that Countess is injured. That downgrades us a little bit.
I predicted 9-3, I am sticking with that.
Countess changes expectations, honestly with him out those "toss up" games become slightly less in our favor. And until we see Denard and Fitz back in sync with Borges, those expectations need to be on hold. Expectations will shift if our health doesn't maintain its current level, especially with those who we cant lose.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bummed about the blowout cause I so badly wanted to win or at least keep it close. But the fact of the matter is the Team 133 goal of a Big 10 championship is still there. I honestly don't see a team on the schedule the rest of the year that we're not better than on paper. So while I expect us to go 11-1...I'll settle for 10-2 only if that loss is to Nebraska.

That sucked but it was not as bad as Appy state.
agreed, gota remember Hoke is only in his 2nd season and RR left us in pretty bad shape, gona take 2-3 more yrs of the recruiting classes were getting to build the talent and depth needed to be a NC contender. That said there's not a team in the B1G anywhere near Bama's level and we should have a great shot in every game and a chance to win the B1G title.
