Even if, it's always going to be found out. I fault no reporter for breaking a story in this situation. If anything, if you want it to be all about the final 4(which I agree with), then the kids shouldn't be letting their intentions be known. It's up to them if they want to go agent hunting, and tip their hands at this point which they have...
If anything you should be blaming the players if your stance is going to be it should be all about the final 4(which I agree with). What are they doing agent hunting? Why aren't they just focused on the upcoming games? Reporters are just doing their job...
You need to read again. I didn't' blame the person who tweeted it. I said the source he got the info from is a douche bag, because I'm pretty certain that Burke and Hardaway wouldn't want them to leak this to a reporter before the final four.
From out friend Johnny2x2x - the same dumbass who said McGary was soft, and knew he wouldn't last an entire B1G season:

Are these kids and their families supposed to be talking to agents at all yet? They are still college athletes and I thought this disqualified them.
Is there a dumber f*** in the Internet than this guy?
Dylan from UMHoops pointed out that the early entry date is only 12 days away. If they wait until after the final four is over that would give them just over a week to figure things out.
Don't they have to declare for the draft by next week?

Dam, my apologies. I definitely misunderstood that part...
that might be...if it is i guess it makes more since...but maybe this isnt official yet?idk i expected them both to leave but i just read an article that Trey didn't know yet and wouldnt know until after the results of the Final Four
For pure probability's sake, I have to say yes, there probably is a dumber on the internet than that guy, but I can't exactly point to one off the top of my head.
It's one of the major sports and entertainment agencies. They do representation for artists in all genres of entertainment and then also for athletes.
Can't say I blame hardaway. His stock is probably as high as its going to get. I'm sure he could make a little more money if he came back, but with an allegedly deeper draft that's not a sure thing. He's accomplished a lot at Michigan and going out with a Final Four and hopefully national championship is a great way to go!
It's easy as fans to say that these guys could be better with another year in college, but imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. You've worked your whole life to make it to the NBA and you finally get to the point where that dream can be a reality. It'd be tough for me too, even if I did think I could improve a bit more. I'd rather improve while getting an NBA salary.

No prob... everyone kind of assumed they were gone anyways. So it's not like this news is shocking to anybody.
u leak it now, what do u think the press are going to ask at the press conference.
after the season, when its all said and done would be more appropriate.

Tim and Trey brought us to a final four and have us 2 wins away from a national championship. Both stayed more than one year. In today's college basketball you really can't ask guys for more than that. Both have their draft stocks as high as possible right now. I'd say THJ is a lock for the first round. A poor couple games in the tournament won't hurt him that much. I think it's definitely the right decision for both of them as Ive thought for most of the season.
I think all any of us can do now is just hope they play their hearts out and leave everything on the floor this weekend since it will be the last time they wear the maize n blue uniforms...I think all of us said before these knews that we wouldnt mind or blame them leaving if they get us a National Championship...they can still do that...and with their desire to win I think they are going to play even harder now that people know these are their last games at Michigan
Funny that the guy who is reporting this at a pretty non-opportune time is a Florida Gator alum.
EDIT: He's also a professor at Indiana.

I said 2 days ago they should announce it like McGary did. Publicly say what you are doing and be done with it. No questions till after final 4. Everyone would have it out in the open. Now we have twitter leaks that distract from the main goal.
Ha. If FL didn't suck arse on the court they might be playing now !! This a typical OSU action. Hmmm .... There is a connection there somewhere. :)
I was just talking to Zak Irvin when the news came out and here's what he had to say about it.
"I was going to have the same approach (to preparing for next season) either way," Irvin said. "I know I need to get stronger and just continue working on my game."
I can tell you confidently that Zak will be more than ready to come in and make an impact immediately.

Personally I don't think this is a distraction at all. If something like this is enough of a distraction that it affects play, we weren't ready to play anyways.
Everyone already knew Burke was gone. Everyone assumed THJ could be gone. At the very least , THJ has already been thinking about it so its already been on his mind. He probably has already talked with guys on the team about it just casually.
I think this is more an annoyance during press conferences than a distraction
Obviously Burke is gone, and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Hardaway left, but lets hold off on the grand conclusions until someone a little more reputable than this guy reports it.
Agreed. These guys are about to play the biggest games of their lives. I seriously doubt they'll be walking onto the court thinking about anything but the game at hand
Michigan is going to be incredibly young again next year. Good chance we start 3 sophmores and 2 freshman.
Can't blame him, his stock won't rise that much and draft class is weak
So is this true or not? Skimming this thread it seems the source may not be credible.
The only good thing is that all of the sophomores will alredy have been on the biggest stage. Nothing they face (except another final four) will compare.
It's up on UMHoops as well. I trust that site and really don't think Dylan would put it up if the source wasn't credible.
