I have to admit that at first I enjoyed the Rich Rod years and the relative ease to which OSU was winning The Game. And I would imagine many of you who were around in the 90s felt the same way about Cooper. But I must admit...I'm glad we are back to the days when both teams are competative and we really don't know who is going to win. Better forThe Game. Better for the Big 10. Better for college football. Can' t wait until Saturday!
Ahhhh, Cooper. Those were the days.
I don't see Cooper and Rich Rod as comparable.
Despite Cooper's horrible record in The Game, his teams were usually more talented and ranked higher. Cooper's buckeye squads assembled some of the most talented teams ever to play in the BIG. In large part his players made up the majority of the 2002 NC team.
UM's wins in the 90's were almost always considered upsets. Meanwhile RR teams were just fodder for Ohio and Tressel. There was no hope.
How do you know Urbs won't be Cooper 2.0?
How do you know Fred won't wind up being RR 2.0?
Because he's already won more games than RR ever did?
RR was a terrible coach that never won a game. Him and Hoke are not comparable right now so no one with half a brain would get them confused.
Cooper was a good coach who had great teams but always lost to Michigan. Urbs has a great team but has never played Michigan except for when he got beaten in Florida with Tim Tebow. So they are comparable.
Comparable? How many national Championships did Cooper win again? Hardly comparable.
Cooper won as many NCs at OSU as Urban has.
In 1993, 1995, and 1996, your seasons looked exactly like this season until Michigan. So Urbs could still be Cooper. You're ignorant or just stupid if you don't see this.
Wrong. One coach has a reputation of losing big games. The other has a habit of winning them. Coop didn't just have a bad record vs MI, he sucked in bowl games as well. Meyer has won at every school he has been the coach. Stupid describes your logic, not mine.
Urbs hasn't played in any big games at OSU, so we have no idea how he'll do.
Well - beat one of the B1G championship game participants this year by dropping 63 on them; beat the other one on the road. Also looked pretty good beating Penn State and MSU on the road. He can only beat who is on his schedule. The B1G is still waiting for someone to beat him at Ohio State. May be a while, they will be better next year.
Well for starters, hes already 1-0 against the Suckeyes, and he doesn't like Josh Groban
