I honestly can't believe I just saw Ferns out of the top 247, and Deon Drake in it.
I like Drake, and I've seen him play several times, but he's not even the clear cut best LB on his own team, and Ferns is bigger, stronger, and faster with the production to back up the physical skills.
Um, yeah..there is no comparison. That is embarrassing for the site.
And I have seen both guys play.

Not involved in the rankings at all, but I believe Clint said that Ferns holds a 92 rating and that they've had difficulty with the rankings all day. He'll be in there.
LOL Ferns is absolutely a top 247 player, who are we kidding. If he isn't a top linebacker he has to be a top Tight End, i mean he got an offer from Alabama fergodsakes
Yup. Sorry hang tight with us guys. We are having some issues. Ferns will be in the top247.
Either 5* or
Well, Ferns is the #6 ILB in the composite ratings and the #14 in the 247. Thank god for the composite index.
Yeah, that makes sense.
I didn't think you guys could make that kind of recruiting error. Not to mention, I always LOVE blaming the IT guys
Once ferns camps hewill jump up some more. His competition is holding his rating back a bit also
check his offer sheet
Just wanted to post this somewhere:
Noticed that Doles jumped into the back end of the 247. Alex Bars made a move into the top 200. Damon Webb fell a little bit but probably due to other players rising
Bars is still ridiculously underrated. The offer sheet speaks for itself.

ratings keep changing...monee up, ferns down is there new updated rankings on a site that I don't know about?
I hope Ferns 90 ranking is a mistake aswell. That is laughable
Why isnt anyone complaining about Speight in here? Cornwell was just ranked a 98, and our experienced coaches who do this for a living decided to offer the QB ranked 86, what were they thinking???? 98 is > then 86
92 seems right, when I averaged his average recruiting ranking he came out as a 90.

I don't care where they have them both rated. Deon Drake is from our biggest pipeline school and yet he didn't receive a Michigan offer. That is pretty telling if you ask me.
This. I am sure DD is a good player, but our coaches had higher ranked recruits for a reason - especially at a pipeline school for us.

Ferns is now a 92, and 174th best in the nation. 7th best in Ohio, which is bullshit. Paris Campbell got the patented Bucknuts leap from unrated all the way up to top 5 in Ohio.
Trust me, the guys who do our rankings are the most unbiased college fans and I was standing right there as they each gave their unbiased opinions on each player.
In regards to Ferns, first off we think he is going to be an absolute beast at the next level and can be a great player for several years at Michigan and he's college-ready. He has great knowledge for the game and plays with great intensity and aggressiveness. He reads plays very well and blows plays up as he shows great strength and explosiveness. He has great size and power.
As for the negatives we saw. Ferns does not have fluid hips. He struggles to drop his hips and get back in coverage and also move laterally. We think that he could struggle in open-field tackling at the next level.
That said, we obviously think very highly of him as a player with a 92 overall grade.
