Deon Drake commits to Michigan State
Good get for MSU.
Fine by me
Agreed. I know Michigan would have been a serious contender if not the team to beat if they would have offered but with the number crunch at linebacker Michigan can't take many in 2014.
Congrats to the kid and to MSU. Looks like a quality player.
Yup, Congrats to both.
I wish he wasn't going to MSU, but the fact that he doesn't have an early offer from UM means the coaching staff clearly has too many guys ahead of him on their wish list. We can't offer players simply to keep them out of Sparty's hands.

Jared Shanker from ESPN had an opening sentence that "Michigan might want to take notice that MSU is establishing a pipeline into CT".....I will only be concerned once MSU starts ripping players who actually have offers from Michigan...congrats to Deon
Webb is UM or LSU so not worried.
2 players does not a pipeline make, especially when neither has a Michigan offer.
Yeah, that's an off base comment by Shanker. Taking notice would mean offering kids that aren't necessarily worthy of an offer just to keep MSU out of CT? That really makes no sense.
Good get for MSU. Definitely rather have him go somewhere else, but didn't seem like he was in line for an offer from us any time soon.
Clint or Todd, do you think we only have one more linebacker spot left with Ferns already committed? It seems like the coaches are going to be incredibly picky with linebacker offers. Haven't even offered Clifton Garrett yet.
I think Michigan is looking for bigger Lber's. Drake is under 6'.
I also don't care if MSU lands Cass recruits w/o Michigan offers.... (not saying those recruits are not good enough, just that it doesn't matter)
This logic will not make sense to the insecure here, or the Sparty trolls.

Definitely not a "pipeline," but certainly a sign of progress. We're all hoping that having CT players on the roster will draw more interest from other CT players. There's a good crop of talent coming out of there in the next couple years.
Sorry bud. Go find another hs. Maybe bad axe? Ct is ours
good get for them, not bothered by it
Not as much as before.
Let me know when you get Webb type talent out of that high school.
Hush up with that stuff at least until Michigan actually gets Webb.
Michigan can't take every player from Cass Tech just to stop them from going to Michigan State. We've taken every player that Hoke wants out of Cass Tech since he's arrived and I'll be surprised if that doesn't continue. I don't see much reason to believe our pipeline is under threat. Hell, Iowa has been taking players out of Cass Tech for awhile now. There's too many kids that come out of that school for us to take them all.

Did I mention Michigan getting Webb? NOPE
Changing things at a pipeline school would be taking kids with offers from the school that is considered a pipeline.
An example, FHH was a pipeline for MSU. Michigan went in and took 2 kids with MSU offers, Funchess and Ojemudia.
Serious question because I don't remember an instance - has MSU ever gotten a Cass Tech player with a Michigan offer?
I don't know. They said that Finley was the first CT recruit for MSU since 2000. That was before recruiting started becoming more public.
