It's opening day here tomorrow. I will be out in the blind hopefully at 5am depending on what happens tonight, basically how many beers I have. Anybody else going hunting? I'm slated to make dinner for the camp on Saturday and I was thinking of making a porchetta roast any other suggestions? Good luck to all the other hunters, bag a buck!
I will be heading to work at 5 am tomorrow.

If its brown its down
can I get some deer sausage with Jalapeno?
where you hunting?
I gotta use all the meat. I'm just a broke college student, and it's so good. I'm hunting in the UP in between Marquette and Escanaba.
Just shot an 8 point. Trying to post a pic from my phone.
I was at deer camp just east of Muskegon with my son and 4 other Michigan Men. It was disappointing cuz we didn't see jack poo, which is unusual.
I'll be heading out again tomorrow and probably another dozen times before the season ends.
Not sure if serious.....
I'm in the woods now, enjoying the turkeys yelping, the woodpeckers pecking, and the squirrels gathering. No deer yet, though.
anybody go hunting in baldwin, MI? my friend wants me to go hunting with him this week.
very nice buck! Its real foggy here this morning, scared one off earlier. I saw a spike opening day but that's the only horns I've seen. My cousins missed 4 shots so far 2 on a 4 pointer and 2 on a spike, we're thinking operator error haha. Where'd you bag the buck at?
view from the blind. couldn't attach the pic.

So is one of the main objectives in hunting to get really drunk??
probably the worst thing you can do. get drunk while having a loaded gun in your hand with your partner standing next to you. you are just asking for a remake of a dick cheney hunting incident
On my land, Southern Ingham County. I have:kt talked to everybody who hunts it, but from what I know, a 5 point, a half rack 3 point, and my 8 point have been taken. Quite a few does also.
After hunting all day most come back to camp and get hammered but only a few beers in the blinds
Very nice sounds like a good year. I'm a little bummed I didn't get one at camp. I think I will go hunting on state land while I can so I can fill my tag
This is looking north from my driveway this morning. To the east is a creek that runs north and south with a deer stand on it. The half-rack was killed out of last night, and 30 does were seen from it opening morning. You can take a doe almost every morning and night as they go back and forth through there.
This picture is looking south from the same location. Behind my house there is a tree stand looking over the cornfield about 1/3 the way back, and at the end of the corn field is a ground blind. The 5 point was taken out of the stand opening morning. Only a few does have been seen there this season. It used to be a great hunting spot, but I think my kids and 2 dogs (Goldens for Pheasant hunting) have pushed the deer away.
I may or may not "hunt" from my windows, and I may or may not be doing that as I type this. ;)
This last pic is looking west, from the same location. I shot the 8-point Saturday night, about 3/4 of the way down the woods, just inside the woods in a tree stand. I kicked up 6 does on the way to the stand. I haven't hunted the woods as much as I would like to, but plan on getting more stands put up in there eventually. Friends of the family hunt the west side of the woods.
Nice buck! Deer up north are way larger then the large dog size ones we have down here.
Where you from? I have worked all over Kentucky, Georgia, and South Carolina. The deer weren't to bad, smaller, but not tiny.
I own a house in South Texas, now those deer are like a large dog. Pitiful to see. The rack looks nice from a distance because the deer is so small.
Bingo! I am northwest of Houston now, hunt sometimes in the hill country out around Austin. There are tons of dear, but most of them are barely over 150 lbs.
