You guys are funny....Always saying Urban lies to kids etc... funny, EVERY kid that has talked about Meyer have said just the opposite. He's up front with them, never promises anything, they have to work for a spot, but they are allowed to earn that spot their freshman year if they are good enough. It's always fun to read y'all bashing him, but honestly after a year+ of it, it starts to look like sour grapes. IF you can't see the attraction a kid would have to play for a coach that has won everywhere he has coached, and won a LOT, then that's pretty narrow minded. But, if you had landed Urban and he was pulling in all these recruits from all over I'm sure the Bucknut crowd would say the same things, because deep down we'd be jealous too..
Every kid? Do you not remember the Robert Foster/Laquon Treadwell "#1 Target" mess?
Hell, have you never seen this article?
Urban lies to kids. It's a fact. Deal with it.

I will let you in on a little secret. Don't come over here if you want to see nice things said about Meyer. I for one do not like the guy and think he is an absolute con artist.
And yeah so jealous of Meyer's recruiting. I will take Hoke's last 2 classes in a heartbeat.
Bill Kurelic says a lot of things that aren't true.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Trust us. We don't want Urban and never wanted Urban. Urban will be gone from OSU with some lame excuse at the first sign of difficulty. You just better hope he doesn't leave your program in ruins when he does.
Well, of course you would since you have no choice.
I myself would take Bama's last two classes, then I'd take Urban's. I have no problem admitting another coach recruited better than mine. I'm not a homer like a lot of BN'ers. I just think it's funny that Urban is tagged as all these things that are made up on message boards, mostly by his former teams fans. As for Treadwell and Foster, the OSU staff backed off of them long ago after their visits. One was a possible academic risk the other was a possible "Risk in General", as in having an "Advisor" etc...
But whatever you want to believe to make you feel better. As I said, I don't speak badly of Hoke's recruiting or coaching, only his showing up at MSU's junior day for a bball game.
OSU and Michigan will never be in ruins. They might have a dry spell, or a few rough years, but historic programs (Bama, OSU, UM, UT, USC, OU, etc) with the largest fanbases in the country, are never just going to drop off of the face of the earth. Same goes with teams like IU in basketball, there was a rebuilding period, but you had to feel they'd eventually come back. The jobs are too attractive to great coaches, and the AD's make too much money from them when they're successful to leave that sort of cash-cow in ruins.
The OSU staff "backed off" because the two kids DM'd each other and realized that Urban was lying to them. I know we joke about saying that every kid who turns down OSU clearly had a non-committable offer or Urban backed off them, but if you seriously think the reason OSU stopped going after those two is because of some active choice on the part of the OSU staff, you are a complete homer.
This claim that it was OSU's fault is just as bad of a claim as saying it was the recruit's "issues". There's no evidence either way. Foster especially had a sketchy visit, and was supposedly walking around Columbus like a big shot looking for hand outs. And a kid that talented, I have a hard time believing any coaching staff "toying with", because he could've started early on most any team around the country. But nobody will ever know the truth. His homer claim is just as plausible as your "anti-homer" claim. Personally, I'm going to give the adult coaches, regardless of the school or if I dislike the coach, the benefit of the doubt over the entitled 17 year old kid with a giant ego (maybe Lane Kiffin is an exception ).
You act as if everything is so black and white. Or that it works like a game like recruiting on EA NCAA 2013. The recruiting process is so much different/complex than we fans perceive. I can tell that just by seeing/hearing how Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State recruits and the respective coaches did their business at my own Alma Mater, and by seeing a behind-the-scenes view of one of the private Ohio powerhouses where my brother coaches that pumps out D1 players yearly. I wish programs were more transparent if only to clear up the many misconception I'm sure we all have.
Can't wait till we see you champs on the field

We are talking about the same 12-0 OSU team that played probably the biggest joke of a schedule since the invention of sliced bread .... correct?

OSU didn't back off Laquon Treadwell, he backed off of OSU. Robert Foster's situation is different, however. I don't really care who dropped who there (nor should we ever say that a school "dropped" a 17-18 year old kid, we have to have more tact there), but Mike Farrell from Rivals has said numerous times that he doesn't think Foster will qualify academically for Bama, even. So it's not difficult to see the forest for the trees on that one. That situation transpired in the same way the Shelton Gibson situation did. My personal opinion is that OSU wanted Foster until the end, but was apprehensive about whether he'd qualify academically, in much the same way they were apprehensive about whether Gibson would qualify academically. I don't feel that's a homer opinion. Nor does it mean I think OSU would even be Foster's choice (I think he was Pitt and Bama's to lose), just that I think there's a fair argument to make for what Best of the B1G is claiming on Foster if a person followed OSU's recruiting of him.
Now the idea that OSU backed of Treadwell? That's ridiculous, untrue from all accounts, and a homer opinion lol.

What happened? Seems he was cut off mid-sentence. I hope he's alright.
These are quality type posts from fans of "rival" schools.
The "don't matter who we played, because we beat you" type posts?
You won't see me on the field cause I don't play, do u?
What number will you be wearing?
Or are you the dumbass that dresses up in a tree dropping mascot?
I want to know so I can tell Kyle Kalis to pancake you into the ground...
* * * N E O . R E T R O * * *
What position you play? Number?
To act like you're a part of the team is so sad I almost feel sorry for you lol.
Just saying, both Foster and Treadwell (post-OSU visit) acknowledged that they talked over twitter, and Foster's dad came out and said he was particularly confused by how the OSU staff were conducting themselves. While there's no evidence that event alone contributed to Treadwell and Foster backing off OSU, it strains credulity to imagine that it's just a coincidence that both of them went in other directions from OSU mere days/weeks after their visit and after they talked.
I've never come over talking any trash saying how we're gonna beat the hell out of you or your players suck or your coach sucks etc....
But it is really funny to me to see the cockiness from a fanbase that has lost almost all of our rivalry FB games since 2000. Now, this "dynasty" might be coming to an end, or it might just be right in the middle of it. We don't know, but If I was on the losing end of pretty much a decade, I surely wouldn't be assuring too many victories.
That would be like OSU fans going on SEC board and crowing that we own them or are going to stomp them...
And that's exactly what was reported the weekend of their visit on our boards. The coaches "cooled" and distanced themselves for the way the recruits acted or something that was said. So that actually helps convince me that the coaches were speaking of these two when they mentioned at a press conference about "backing off some recruits that we really wanted"....
Mr. BestoftheBig, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
BestoftheBig, give it a rest. No one cares. Go back to your board.
