I caught up with OL commitment Dan Samuelson this morning to talk about his day and decision to choose Michigan. Pretty funny stuff.
"I actually forgot the papers back at my house when I left this morning," he said. "I had to wait on my parents and while I was, Coach Borges called and asked when I was sending them. He said they were a bit worried because I had told them I was sending them earlier than I ended up being able to."
On fitting in after being one of the last commitments: "Logan Tuley-Tillman is the one guy who really approached me early on my first unofficial visit and made me feel comfortable about the guys coming in. There's a real family feel here at Michigan and besides it being close to home, my relationship with the other linemen and the academics were the big factors in my commitment. I think we're all similar guys and players and I look forward to working with them."

Nobody really talks too much about Sam Danielson.
I love that Borges called and made sure they were sending it in because it was just a little late. Just gives us a good idea of how stressful this day is for coaches
Yeah, he forgot his NLI at home and had to wait for his parents to bring it. Borges called him and asked why he hadn't sent it in yet. Funny stuff.
Dan availed himself extremely well during his Michigan Insider interview this morning. That kid is all in, so to speak.
How was I the first one to upvote you for this?!
This bit of understated comedy actually got an audible chuckle out of me!
I don't get it.
At least his mom didn't take his LOI papers and run into hiding..
speaks to his character that he would forget something so important. Like...Hmm should i b epulling right now???
Oh, come on now. I've forgotten equally important things before - I once got an hour into a road trip with a couple friends before realizing we forgot the 5th guy who was supposed to come with us.
I don't think it speaks to his character - he already knows where he's going, so this was just a formality on a day pretty much like any other for him. It's not like his school was having some major signing ceremony or anything, he just didn't have a fax machine at home.
