Ohh by the way #GoBlueNation.. I qualified with the #NCAA..now its #HailToPay
But Bucknuts has a disclaimer. So they are free to make up whatever BS they like. It's not like their staff is full Pulitzer winners.
But, but, but that's not what the bucknutters said!!!
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
I have a source that says he didn't, aka, bucknuts.
So you're saying everything on Bucknuts isn't true?!
Bucknuts seems to be like the boy who cried wolf, except when he is eaten by the wolf, we laugh at him.
I know this article if full of "fluff", but I believe they have their own worries with Meyer running the show...seriously...some things/places never learn or change.
Am I the only one that sees those as more than just "Secondary" Violations. The video from Gene Smith should be a more serious violation and the $15 per diem at the Rose Bowl for each player?!?! ~100 players on the team x $15 that is ~$1500 for the team per day that shouldn't be allowed. Am I wrong on that?
Meh. They are not huge violations. Some are a little worse than others, but I don't know...seems ticky tack to me.
While I agree with you, I think there is one violation of theirs that definitely needs to be looked into:
"Athletic director Gene Smith and alumni association CEO Archie Griffin recorded a personalized video for football recruit Ezekiel Elliott for his official campus visit on March 31. Recruiting videos are forbidden."
Ezekiel Elliott commits the very next day
Go Blue and Go Titans!
I find it funny that O Lie O Staters call us scUM when they should look to those who run their school. They are the scum!
There is no way Meyer doesn't know the deal with recruiting videos. This has to be blatant flaunting of NCAA leniency.
I agree...that one is worrisome.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with the per diem...Players get merchandise from the bigger bowls, anyway (Sugar Bowl watches to name one). The per diem is mainly for food. I mean, if he has a little leftover and buys a key chain from a city/state he's probably visiting for the first time.
I agree. However, the point of bringing this up is that there are 46 self reports here. 46! Now, I know that many are from before Urban and many are from other athletic team at OSU, but if I were an OSU fan, I may not come right out and say it, but I would be nervous as he** after the Meyer hire. I know that these seem like "tacky violations", but there is NO WAY that Urban doesn't know that he can't talk to recruits on a game-day. There is NO WAY that an AD wouldn't know that you can't send a video to a recruit. There is NO WAY that Urban doesn't know about "bumping into recruits" during no contact periods. This guy is already trying to "bend the rules" as far as he can and he's only been there for 6 1/2 months. Right now, Meyer is being called out by some for recruiting violations and OSU is even self reporting some of accusations. Think about it...he's only been for 6 1/2 months. I would like to know what the over/under is for "self reports" for OSU next year at this time after Urban and staff have been recruiting for a full year. Call me crazy, but I have a feeling that by the time 2014/2015 roll around, the "health issues" of Urban Meyer are going to start up again in Ohio.

Meyer definitely knows how to walk the fine line of recruiting rules. Plus, he is a very good PR guy. Probably would make a hell of a used car salesman.
2015 .nope i give him 2 years top's
How many of those infractions happened before Meyer? Gene Smith is an idiot and he should have been fired long ago. For how much he makes, you'd think he'd KNOW he couldn't film a video for a recruit.
98% of those are a joke.
The video certainly didn't occur before Meyer, nor could Meyer have been unaware of it.
Oh definitely. It is a head scratcher.
I haven't seen a full list of them, but the ones I've seen were from last years staff.
Nothing serious outside that video, IMO.
Yeah. Every list of self-reported violations is gonna be loaded up with more than a few ridiculous rules violations.
Man urban need's to step down .. he's becoming a drama queen ..
i agree and as you all may know by now im an osu fan. i heard about this the day he committed and watched the video on youtube and thought then that it was fishy. seriously i think the smith part isnt as big a deal even though he is the AD but if you have legends making these videos, it opens up a huge can of worms. any team could do it.
as for every other violation mentioned though, i feel they are less than nothing
