Besides the QB commit Wilton Speight, Coach Hoke also talked with Top50 2014 OT Jamarco Jones today.
"Just talked to Coach Hoke! Can't wait to get back to Ann Arbor!!" Jones tweeted.
National Recruiting Analyst
2014 TE Austin Roberts is scheduled to call the coaches around 11 AM. Wouldn't be surprised if he got an offer today as well.
Any other commitments on the horizon?
Expecting any movement on the Dominique Booth front?
All I want for NSD is Gelen Robinson to get an offer.
Nobody on this board can define the word regression.... but it sure gets used a lot.
McDowell and Marshall and Hand and....
Fantastic news! Is he the only QB Michigan looks to take or will it be 2?
We'll take one
I guess this is the real advantage to locking up the 2013 class early. Hoke can focus exclusively on 2014 kids on NSD - gotta be somewhat special for them. Hoke can just be like "While every other coach in the country is focused on 2013 kids, I'm already looking ahead to you."
I like Gelen, but I'd have to say he's a little down in the pecking order when it comes to DL at this time. Now if they offer as a LB that's different, but as a DE there are a bunch of guys likely ahead of him at the moment.
sorry CMXI this makes no sense? Are you saying that other coaches are only dealing with 2013? I believe the Saban's, the Meyer's of the world have made offers on 2014 kids, all coaches have been making offers and visiting these kids, heck some are already committing or will be committing after 2013 signing day is gone.
No, I think he's saying that the other coaches have to deal with 2013 as well, whereas Hoke gets to focus exclusively on 2014, therefore Hoke has an advantage.
Like, there are 24 hours in a day, of which the coaches can devote X hours to recruiting. He's saying that Hoke gets to spend all of X on 2014, whereas someone who's busy trying to score NSD commitments has to split X between 2014 and the 2013 NSD guys...and probably, that coach is spending a lot more energy on the guy who's making his decision RIGHT NOW than they guys who aren't signing for another year.
