Well, if he doesn't come to Michigan, I hope he goes to LSU.
I'm still pretty shocked Michigan hasn't offered. I know that he isn't really a downhill running back, but he can be moved around like to the slot receiver position or at least be used in the return game. I would not let him leave the state with the type of speed he has. Just my opinion.
You're not the only one with that opinion Clint. My fear is he doesn't leave the state and play sfor MSU, or if he does leave the state, it is for Nebraska.
Berkley won't go to MSU. He is very high on Minnesota & Iowa.
It largely depends on room in the class. If there is room, I'm sure the staff will consider extending an offer. But not at the expense of losing someone higher on their wish list. Maybe the class will be bigger than 24. Or maybe we will land Treadwell and whiff on the rest, leaving the 24 spot available. But other than that, it comes down to limited space. We discouraged Anzalone and O'Daniel from visiting because of space limitations. You cannot take everyone.
Definitely not the only one..
Unfortunately for Berkley, Michigan is fairly loaded right now with "Not real sure where they will play, but they sure are fast!" guys right now. That at least applies to Hayes, Norfleet and D. Johnson.
Plus, from recruiting trends, it doesn't seem like Borges wants much to do with either scat backs or slot receivers.
If you count heads, it seems very possible we will end up with a class larger than 24. Maybe Hoke is just holding off on that decision as long as possible. In a class of 25-26, the situation changes dramatically.
I prefer they offer Edwards before Gibbs. JMO
Hard to teach speed, especially with a change of direction.

Agree with everything except your last sentence. You actually explained it perfectly. Hayes (RS freshman), Norfleet (true frosh) & Johnson (true frosh) are already on the roster. A player like Berkley may in fact be redundant at this point (in the opinion of the coaches, anyway). What we don't have an abundance of on the roster and are in need of are every down running backs and true WRs.
It should also be noted that the coaches originally wanted to take one athlete/slot/running back type in this class but the emergence of C'Sonte York changed that. We did pursue ath/slot receiver James Onwualu early on in the recruiting process but he chose Notre Dame instead. Alvin Bailey could also be that type of player but he's staying down south.
walk on if he wants to be apart of #134
Read my mind
I really think had Norfleet not jumped at the offer right before signing day there'd be a spot for Berkley. They seem to be the almost the exact same type of player, with Norfleet actually higher rated.
Would be nice if he ended up outside the B1G bc unless the coaches whiff on a bunch of targets, I dont seem at UM

Of fergodsakes...just take him and put him back there with Norfleet and have the best return combo in the country for 3 or 4 years.
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
Meh. I admit I haven't watched any highlights, but his offer list is MAC MAC MAC Iowa MAC MAC CAL MAC Minnesota. Does anyone know if he was at any Michigan camps, earning an offer like Stribling did?
He did go to a day of Michigan's camp this summer. I think he has some pretty good offers but teams are concerned about exactly which position he would play at the next level and his size.
Honestly I don't think being related to Braylon really helps his cause here. Braylon was great at UM, but has been a headcase ever since, ending up in the news for all the wrong reasons. I don't see any way we offer unless it's a Norfleet-like last minute type deal.
if we get LT and miss out on LMlll, green, vhlll, allen, fuller, muhammad and bailey. the last scholly goes to edwards, gibbs or it gets saved for next year unless some unknown, underrated has a monster senior season which usually happens. i hope they hang on to the last scholly until december to see if anyone blows up before giving it to edwards or gibbs,
that would be a nice special teams duo
There doing their best to eliminate kickoff returns with the rule changes
And if we miss D. Hill
thanks. forgot about him. hes in the mix. 2 schollys left with 11 guys in the mix, with guys from 1% interest (vhlll) to 99% interest in UM (treadwell)
if that happens it will be after norfleet and edwards leave college. i don't see anything happening in the next 5 years
I think hes the guy that blows up his senior season
Hell, it's already happening. Kickoffs have been moved up 5 yards and touchbacks come out the 25 now. Going to be a lot less returns now.
