So you got UGA at home...see we didn't get any of those teams at home. I win again. And you ARE two different teams. Some games you decide the read option would be best and go with Shaw, other games you go Fun-n-gun with Dylan Thompson. You don't run scores up because your offense is inconsistent. You scored and put it to UGA and MIzzou as much as you possibly could, but other less talented teams did a good job stopping you. Hey, we're inconsistent on offense too. Nothing to be ashamed about.
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
I'm not ashamed of anything. Dylan Thompson played against ECU when Shaw was hurt. He played against UAB after Shaw got re-injured, and he played against Clemson, because Shaw was once again hurt. We threw the ball 10 times vs. UGA, and 21 times vs. Mizzou (Shaw went 20-21). We didn't score as much as we possibly could in either one of those games. We were stopped by Vandy (first game of the year @Vandy on a Thursday night, Shaw initially got injured in this game, and could barely play), LSU stopped us, but we scored 21, the same amount that Bama did at LSU, and Florida just dominated us on defense. We aren't two different teams. We've been pretty consistent on offense all season, and a lot has just depended on the team's defense we've played as to how well we've played. Shaw started nine straight games, and played every meaningful snap except for the 2nd half of Florida. He has had a shoulder injury all season. I guess I'm wondering what lesser teams we've done poorly against on offense outside of the Wofford game?

I'm saying your team is inconsistent....how do you blowout UGA and sort of go to the wire with LSU and struggle with Vandy, Kentucky, Wofford, and Tennessee
It's what having a mediocre offense does to a team, when things aren't going your way right away you'll find yourself in a lot of close games - they average barely more yards than Sparty and less than us.
Exactly...thank you Skeletor
The whole point was that we aren't worse than UGA or other SEC teams. That's what my OP was all about. Why don't you answer me why UGA's offense was so horrific against us if they are so much better than we are?
Florida- Struggled with Mizzou, Bowling Green, La-Laf, UGA
Georgia- Got crushed by us, struggled with Tennessee and Kentucky
Texas A&M- Struggled with Ole Miss, La Tech, and got beat at home by LSU and Florida
LSU- Struggled with Auburn, Towson, Ole Miss, and Arkansas
You missed the entire point of my OP saying that those teams weren't any better than we are, but I guess your sensational breakdown of our schedule did wonders against my knowledge of the SEC. If you think we aren't any good, that makes me happy, hopefully your team thinks it too, and then we'll show you big boy football just like we did Nebraska last year. I'm glad you'd rather play us than Georgia. Georgia who has beaten one ranked team the past two seasons. The same team who has lost three straight times to us. I'm done posting on this board. I came over here looking for some knowledgeable Michigan fans to help inform me about their team, but jackwagon Moon had other plans. EVERY team in the country has games that they play better in and games where they play worse. It isn't like they are two different teams. We've been extremely consistent this season, and clearly you haven't watched us play. Turnovers like everything else in football has been the only difference. We've showed up with the same motor in every single game. Watch every game, and come back with a different perspective. You clearly know nothing about South Carolina, because you thought Spurrier was changing QBs throughout the year, because he didn't know what type of gameplan to run. WRONG.
Our defense is better than TAMU and UGA. Our defense is dominant like UF's, but our offense is better. I'm not sure why you would think that SC is such a better matchup than those 3, except that you are just judging our team on our name.
He is definitely a jackwagon. Don't hold it against him though. He literally does not know how to discuss football with anyone besides Michigan fans without being demeaning and abrasive. He's already scared off about 3 other Carolina fans that came here peacefully.
We actually jumped out to a HUGE lead against La Tech and then let them in the game, not struggle. Turnovers were what kept Ole Miss and LSU in the game(we had a lead for the majority of the game).
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
If you aren't worse than "other SEC teams" then why are you playing us in the fricking Outback Bowl and aren't getting ready for that NC game or at least the Sugar Bowl?
With Lattimore I might even buy that you are around the same tier as UGA and Florida, but without him I'd put you on a tier below them.
That said, it's not like we're national champions either. Gonna be a game between two good but flawed teams IMO.
If you don't think a team having a 2pt conversion to tie it with 1 minute left isn't struggling then the 21 point victory we put on Kentucky surely isn't either.
Seriously? You "might" buy that we are around the same tier as UGA if we had Latty? I'd hope so since we won 35-7 against them. If you want a refresher course on UGA, take a look at their last two schedules. One win against a ranked team. This year vs. Florida. Lost to Boise State, South Carolina, LSU, Michigan State, South Carolina, and Alabama. We got crushed by Florida, but held them under 200 total yards. We just kept turning it over. They had 30 yards at halftime, and we were losing 21-6. We lost by 2 at LSU at night, LSU had a 40 something game winning streak at night going into that game. We've won 10 games, 8 of which were by double digits. TAMU, Florida, LSU can't say they have 8 double digit wins, and UGA has 8. As far as Alabama goes..I never said we were better than them.
Well you lost to Florida and LSU, Georgia lost to you (and Bama in the SECCG), Florida lost to Georgia. I'm sure all of those teams' fans have their explanation for why they lost as well.
I could go "hey we only lost to Alabama, Notre Dame, Nebraska (playing without a QB for half the game) and Ohio State - all on the road." Those teams are a combined 46-4 and we were within a shout against ND and OSU. But nobody cares about that, we're 8-4 and the guys on your forum probably think they're gonna blow us out.
As awesome as Lattimore is, we really haven't seen a dip in offensive production when he has gone out last season or this season. I am not sure how to explain it, but I'm assuming it is a result of opponents keying in on the run less and us being forced to be more balanced instead of force-feeding an All American RB. Our backup RB's have stepped in and been very capable. So, those who base the ability of our offense and the quality of our team on Latti's presence (or lack there of) really haven't been paying attention to our games the last two seasons. Not that I would expect the average UM fan to anyways.
That's what I'm saying....Here's to a physical, hard fought, injury-free game Michigan fans. Good luck.
