Yeah, I completely agree. I'm not denying how messed up this is because it is. I'm just saying that there are people like this all over the place and as you guys have one of the largest fanbases in the country, it's delusional to think that out of all of them, that there isn't at least one that is a Michigan fan. It just so happens that one of the guys that is one of our fans was a Twitter addict and got publicized for what he did.
It's the closest thing that there is right now to prove it. It's better to have evidence that may be slightly off than to say something with no evidence whatsoever. It's baby steps. This article could lead to more thorough articles in the future and better analysis of it. The world wasn't created in a day so all we can go off of is what we know now, and right now, I haven't seen something more reasonable than this
As much as everyone hates ND, there is little doubt in my mind that ND has the biggest fanbase in the world.
Go Blue and Go Titans!
I am the age of current players. If I found out that someone I hung out with is a sexual predator who was convicted of possessing a lot of child pornography, I would not stick up with him.
Being in college is not equivalent to being completely clueless.
Once again, nobody knew that the guy was a pedophile until after all of this happened. To them, he was just a crazy fan at the time
You have to think about it from a geological perspective. Most of the fans of schools lie in those school's home states. Notre Dame has to share their fans with Indiana and Purdue, both of which are historically pretty significant schools. Penn State has to compete with Pitt, who was also historically a significant team, even though Pitt's fan base has dwindled in recent years. Michigan has to contend with Michigan State, and even though you guys think they are your little brother, they have become pretty prevalent in both sports in the past decade and you guys are essentially competing with them now. Ohio State has nobody to compete with in-state. The majority of the kids at OU are also Ohio State fans (I would know. I went there up until I transferred to Ohio State last year) and CIncy isn't really anything to compete with either. A lot of the kids at Cincy are also Ohio State fans
Yeah, but then a bunch of your current players supported him AFTER it was broken that he's a pedo. Which is why I said that.
Don't forget your Kentucky fans.
God I hate Kentucky...lol but there aren't nearly as many Kentucky fans as people think in Ohio. I've lived in 4 different areas of Ohio and Ohio State fans outnumber Kentucky fans 100 to 1. The place that has the most Kentucky fans is Cincy, and even there, there are more Ohio State fans than Kentucky fans.
Oops, didn't even notice that. I meant geographical lol
as im reading this thread your starting to piss me off dude. the osu fans are on here being reasonable trying to explain the situation to the best understanding that anyone has and all you have done with each post you have had is acting like a jerk. show some class and grow up

Uhhhhhh...... that one must have flown a little over your head.
Good Lord. Do these people think things through before posting?
This is really an incredible story so far.
It does sound like OSU "did the right thing", of course they would be insane, considering recent history, to not nip this in the bud real quick, even with the loss of a couple commits. It certainly seems like a program with very little institutional control.
And good on the buckeye fan coming here with info. This is a volatile subject and you have kept it classy (as classy as the situation can be, I suppoe).
it was one person speculating and yes it was crazy but out of 5 pages to have one unreasonable comment shouldnt be to surprising. lay off dude you are being annoying
Read on 11w that there is more news coming?
Also this guy had contact with with several players, and how long did it go on for?
Someone mentioned improper benefits?
Sure is yo !. Sure is. He probably got word that Urbs thought of him as scraps .... ***
The evidence shown in the article is what we like to call statistically insignificant. None of this proves that one fan base is larger than another without a doubt, it just shows a rough estimate. Based on the amount of living alumni it would be hard to argue that Ohio State definitely has a larger fan base.
At the same time none of this pertains to the argument. Big school or small school, there comes a point when you're gathering enough fans to support an online community, and some of those community members are going to attempt to interact with recruits. Does this happen at most schools? Yes. Do creepers always find recruits at most schools? There's no way to answer that question.
The Anzalone situation is one that should be left alone by Michigan fans and Ohio State fans alike. This is a 17-18 year-old kid who's making arguably the most important decision in his life, and he has every reason to shy away from a school that has one fan who took it too far. End of story.
I think he was referring to the OSU fans that live in KY, instead of the UK fans that live in Ohio. There’s a lot of people in KY that are OSU Football fans, and UK hoops fans because UK’s Football program sucks.
