"Something's just not right at Ohio State," Sal Anzalone said.
'Something's just not right' at Ohio State, so Wyomissing star decides to de-commit

"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"

The quotes by his dad in the third and fourth paragraphs from the end are absolutely brutal. Ouch.
"You don't want your son to go to a place where there's a potential issue (like this)," Sal Anzalone said. "You expect the (football) staff to have some sort of control on how things are handled with recruits when they visit. This is ridiculous."
"I was concerned with what recruits do, and with them being allowed to visit these kind of places where it puts kids at risk. That's the issue. You entrust people (at the school) to do the right thing."

Brutal...ouch baby very ouch
There are some very mad fans right now.
In all honesty, the comments on that article make me sick. Calling the father a "douchebag" because he's concerned for his son's safety? Are you kidding me?
On top of that, 90% of the people attacking Anzalone and his family seem to have ignored the fact that Anzalone's dad said that Alex had been having misgivings and concerns since he got back from his visit to the Spring Game, so it wasn't just the publication of this picture that caused the decommit - the picture was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
I'm loving the meltdown over this article.
I believe he is referring to the OP
Here is the funny part.....First of all, the creep that follows all these kids on twitter and talks to them is from and lives in Kentucky...has not ever been affiliated with the university at all...As if any coach, or university for that matter, would know if some freak was among the 105000 fans at a game, or got an autograph/picture taken with players....I doubt Michigan or any other team in the country could monitor this...
The "fan" payed for a ticket, got his picture taken, (probably went home and rubbed one out because of it), but that is truly not an Ohio State nor any other university issue...
Now for the absolute hilarious part....Ohio State is out of the running over this Kentuckian, but Penn State is still in the running for his services....His father truly makes a lot of sense over that...
i totally understand his caring for his son, as I would, but honestly putting the blame on the university is just an easy out....I think he committed too early and had doubts...that's his right....good luck to him.......but PENN STATE?????? hahaha
Well Penn State has always had a good image (can't say that about Ohio), and they're getting some really recruits to come this year.
No one is upset that this Waugh guy was at the Spring Game. Its the fact that he was able to get so close to the players and recruits - take them out to dinner, go out with them at the bar. Those are not the activities of a normal fan, but of someone who has gotten close to the program and/or certain players.
As for Penn State, the University has taken all of the right moves ever since Curly and Schultz were taken out of power. Despite extreme negative reaction from students and fans, things seem to be moving in the right direction at PSU.
Hey guys, hope you dont mind me posting on here.. i came over for a good laugh at OSU's expense coming from the people who do it the best. but i cant say i enjoyed BestoftheBig coming at PSU like that. Thanks UMPat for looking at it objectively. I'd like to say that we are very sickened by what happened, but to be honest since the incident PSU has done all the right things. I might even go as far to say that theyve made the campus one of, if not the safest, in the nation from this stuff now. Everyones on the lookout.

Bestofthebig is a buckeye fan.
oh absolutely, I try to be as respectful as possible. We have the same rule on the PSU board. In my short time on this site ive come to enjoy reading Michigan comments. Always thoughtful and civil, which is nice to see... and if you were offended by anything i said, im sorry, not my intent
I love how they are bashing Alex's Dad now, guess they forgot Alex's brother made an account after he committed. So no doubting the brother is probably still reading these threads.
well now it all makes sense. Im gonna be honest, i read some of the thread and I thought he stuck out. Im not making that up
