We are college football
hmm... thats an odd situation.
Fine by me. That is a tough spot on the schedule.
Not taking anything away from the players at schools like Michigan, USC, Florida, etc, but what the players at the service academies go through on a daily basis is a whole different world. I have a ton of respect for those players.
Hopefully for Air Force's sake, those guys can return at some point this season. The article says they're still at the school, and you'd think the coach would come out and say they're off the team for good if that were the case. So it looks like he's leaving the door cracked open for them to return at some point.
eh not likely, af was only returning 6 starters this year anyway and from what i've read they lost the only qb thats given them a legitemate passing game in the last decade. They do run an offense thats tricky to defend but i think the talent gap between the teams will be too great for it to matter much.
agreed, if they are still at the school it would seem likely they'll be given a chance to earn their way back on the field.
I understand what you are saying, but I was thinking more in terms of a letdown game after Alabama and the option takes a lot of discipline.
+1 Todd, in total agreement.
and we did really well in defensing the option last year
yea that is always a possibility.
yea we did defend the option pretty well and when we struggled (like against NW) Mattison was able to adjust. AF does run a little different option offense but again i really believe that overall we will have too much talent on the field for them. Even if our Defense struggles a bit the offense should run up and down the field against an inexperienced defense.
