I'm bored because our local drive is down at work. So I was just thinking about the 2014 class and who we have the best shot with..
I separated them into 3 categories (Guys we lead for, guys for whom we are Co-leaders, and guys who we are in the Top Group for). For the Top Group category I'm not including kids that have a bunch of schools listed as a top group, or kids who don't seem destined for an offer as of now.
Feel free to add anyone I missed, or if you think somebody belongs in a different category speak up. I'm just kind of doing this quickly while I have a spare minute.
Liking the possibilities for this class.
QB - Wilton Speight
LB - Michael Ferns
DT - Bryan Mone
DB - Parrker Westphal
OL - Tommy Doles
WR - Corey Holmes
DL - Malik McDowell
OL - Alex Bars
OL - Mason Cole
DE - Da'Shawn Hand
TE - Daniel Helm
DE/LB - Joe Henderson
WR - Artavis Scott
OL - Sam Mustipher
CB - Jabrill Peppers
CB - D'Andre Payne

TE - Tyler Luatua
LB - Otaro Alaka

I would put Devers in the group we lead for. Mikale wilbon in Top group.
Neither has an offer, and I don't think it's a lock that they get one.
Devers will get an offer. Wilbon will get an offer if we miss on Mixon and Hilliman
I'll be putting pieces like this together a lot very soon.
Anybody missing from first glance?
Also, I was hesitant to put Holmes in the 'Lead For' category. He seems to have been quiet recently, and I think UF could be right there with us.
holy sh*t.....gimme gimme
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
Others for either the "top group" tier or maybe a lower one like "clear interest"
Tyler Luatua (??)
Dante Booker (??)
Ward is still a commit as far as I know.
Smith, Blanding, Jones, Luatua.. are all kind of in the same boat to me. They say they are interested, but they haven't really narrowed anything down. Blanding put out a top 10, and we made it, but UVA is the presumed leader.
Guys like Booker, Garrett, and Lattimore are all Ohio leans IMO as well.
JC said he likes Michigan and VTech right now for Hand, so I guess he can move up to co-leaders. Also, Cornwell jumps to "leading for" as soon as he gets offered.

Agree with the separate category. These guys have interest, but it's not clear how much.
Although Aniebonam (sp) did just name a top 5 didn't he?
Bentley Spain also has us in his top group
Ya, he named us to a top 5, so he's gotta be a "top group" guy. Luatua did too, fwiw. In my head the lower tier was more for guys like Blanding (top 10 with us in it, but top 10 seems different from top 5) or Jones, who clearly like us, but its a bit more nebulous than that.

Looking around at profiles and noticed Damian Prince has us listed at "warm" with 5 other schools (Alabama, FSU, OSU, SCAR, and VaTech) but I can't seem to find articles where he names leaders/etc, does anyone know what's up with him?
That was just a guess from JC, he also said really good things about Bama and South Carolina. we are in the top 5, and while we have a good shot. Va. Tech is still the team to beat to me.
He's one of those kids that hasn't really narrowed much down from what I could gather. I know the coaches stopped in to see him recently, so I'm not sure at this point.
FWIW Cornwell is really high on Bama as well as us.
Great list and thread altogether. Lets keep this around and maintain the list as it evolves and player drop to other schools and so on and so forth.
Steve said he is working on something similar... so when he gets it up , he should pin it.
He'll have way more time to edit, and update it than I will.

He lists us... but South Carolina is probably the leader. He also has visits set up to UNC and Stanford, and is looking at a May decision.
Class of 2014 offensive tackle Bentley Spain spent the past three days in Columbia on a visit with one chief goal in mind - and one that was accomplished.
Yeh, I don't think we lead, but he lists us every time he talks leaders (also mentioned us to rivals' SCAR site this weekend, for example) so it's clear we're in that top group for him with a decent shot
I have heard several people say that Virginia Tech leads with Michigan a close#2.
I don't see Cornwell as the lock others are saying. He has all the top schools looking at him.
Where would you guys place Drake Harris? All I know at this point is that it's still really early for him and we were in the top 2 when basketball wa a factor even though he had no offer to play it here. Just curious what category he'd fall into if any
I'd say top group.
We're definitely in his top group for now, but it'll be a long recruitment.
