There is no reason we can't take two QBs in 2013.
The reason seems to be, the coaches seem content on making Morris the only QB in 2 classes which is not that great of a recipe... I would love to see 2 QBs in 2014 because its not happening in 2013
They already told morris they are taking one
Then they need to re-tell him they are taking another one. Do we really want Shane and Bellomy(ugh) as our only two quarterbacks next year? It is obvious that the staff has no intention of puting Devin in again or they would have done it saturday night instead of just throwing in the towel with Sheridan's twin.
They should have taken one this year. It was stupid not to. Even if it was just a three star QB.

agreed, its a must to get 2 qb's in 14.
By "this year" do you mean 2012?
Have people forgotten that our coaches were interested in Gunner Kiel and Zeke Pike (lol) among others?
Also, just adding any 3 star QB isn't going to help our cause.

Agree....it might be way too late to get a solid QB for the '13 class, and another Bellomy/3 * just to have another body is not the answer.
2014 TE prospect Kyle Rachwal's new highlight reel
Rachwal seems like a good prospect but nothing on his tape stood to me.
I would be surprised if he's at the top of our TE board even if he is an in-state kid.
Supposedly in-state TE/DE Blake Williams is hearing from Michigan.
5-star OT Braden Smith (6'6" 282 lbs) visited Oklahoma for their game against ND this past Saturday night. OU Insider has a quick follow-up piece with quotes from his father and his father mentions Michigan as one of the schools that has been in touch.
Heard he has an NCO from Urban. If he commits then he can but until then he can't.
He can't be. IMO, Jeb Blazevich and Nic Weishar should be at the top of our TE board.
The kid is absurdly good. I've seen him in person, and he plays like a man among boys, but with coordination and footwork good enough to translate to the college game practically immediately. He's got prototypical size and he could start as a true freshman for many schools.
I would love to get him too, but I thought he was an early Nebraska lean. They aren't even mentioned in Steve's article, so I guess I was wrong. Let's hope we at least can get him to visit AA. Hoke & Co. seem to hit it off unusually well with OL for some reason. He would look great in Maize & Blue someday!

And don't think we have a chance at all with Jeb.
i love jeb bush
He really has been working it hard. The way he was going after Mason Cole was impressive. Now hopefully Webb as well! You have to truly appreciate this from him.
I am guessing LTT gave him a few pointers.
A long ways to go here but as of today who do yall think ends up in this class so far??
Kid from boilingbrook??
Im feeling Peppers
Article on Drew Barker on tbb and he didn't mention us at all. Thought he would of been one of the first qbs to get an offer and he still could be but just seems like we have a lot of ground to make up
I don't like what the coaches have been doing. I know, I know, trust in the coaches, but we've seen how important that first offer is, and I think there are a number of QBs we should be in on - Barker, Henderson, Key, O'Connor, Kizer - hell, the fact that Chance Stewart has already committed is a sign of how quickly things move.
^ I think your class is a little small. Right now you have 17 recruits. I think our coaches will find a way to get the 2014 class to at least 20.
- Switch QB David Cornwell for Coleman Key.
- I'm not impressed by Hosey so I hope that Hosey improves significantly or that someone better comes along. I like Mikale Wilbon here.
- Hopefully Artavis Scott comes with Mason Cole.
- Add Lawrence Marshall
- Add Derek Kief (WR).
- Add Ian Bunting (TE/WR hybrid).
- You are thinking of Parrker Westphal (CB/S).
- Add S Montae Nicholson. (We will need some luck...a la Taco Charlton)
- The Jabrill Peppers recruitment will be a war by fall/winter of next year. Hopefully, ND, Stanford, and USC will all implode next season.
After those revisions, I think that's a realistic prediction of what our class will be next year given how things stand now.
So here's a quick one.
QB David Cornwell (Favorite QB in 2014)
QB DeShone Kizer (Second favorite QB in 2014)
WR Artavis Scott (Corey Holmes or Dareain Watkins could take this spot)
WR Derek Kief
TE Ian Bunting
RB Mikale Wilbon
OL Denzel Ward
OL Tommy Doles
OL Mason Cole
OL Alex Bars
OL ??? - Could be Jamarco Jones, Nathaniel Devers, etc.
DL Malik McDowell
DT Enoch Smith Jr.
DE Lawrence Marshall
LB Michael Ferns
CB Damon Webb
CB Parrker Westphal
S Montae Nicholson (still not confident on this)
S/CB Jabrill Peppers (will be a war...)
Right now, my mock class has 18 recruits. I'm sure more prospects will emerge while others will disappear/fade. Priorities will also change. Needless to say, recruiting is fluid.
Our coaches will have to make decisions on a number of positions:
- 2 WRs and 2 TEs versus 3 WRs and 1 TE. (Depends on how well Funchess and Butt are developing. AJ Williams is also key here.)
- 4 or 5 OL in 2014. (Partially affected by 2013.)
- Another LB to complement Ferns?
- 1 FB? or 2 RB? (Partially depends on 2013 class.)
