Dictionary definitions of assumption:
"something taken for granted"; "the act of supposing"; "presumption"
1) Your post said "I would still say that Winovich is an OSU lean" which is an assumption. You didnt cite him, a quote of his or any analyst, you said "I" meaning your opinion, which again is an assumption. Predictions by analysts are also assumptions (i.e. Lawrence Marshall). We have a number of guys who had OSU as a "dream school" and vice versa.
2a) It is an assumption, look no further than your phrasing. "It's very likely." Visit schedules change all the time, as do decision dates. And even moreso when guys know there is a rush at a position (i.e. OL class filling up last year).
2b) Probabilities are # based (which you did not give), not vague-word based. They (statements of probability) are (synonyms for assumption include: hypothesis, guess, conjecture) assumptions (unless it is a 100% certainty).
3) There is a difference between possible and probable. It is an assumption because it is based on nothing and you did nothing in terms of distinguishing a likelihood of the event other than to call it "a decent chance of happening." Define "decent" It is also an assumption because it is contingent on "steps" 2 (and possibly 1) being true.
4) You didnt say learn something though, you said "learn a good deal." in the post I quoted and in one of your earlier posts you stated "If this story is indeed the way it sounds, all the talk about this staff being real and straight forward is BS" which coupled with everything you said implies that this hypothetical individual scenario would matter more and prove more true than all of the other recruitments that have proven to be exactly the opposite, that one recruitment that was handled poorly matters more and is indicative of the coaches character more than anything else. And btw you used "if" in the statement I quoted in this section, making it an assumption.
To my knowledge that scenario has not occurred before, which supports my stance that you (and not just you, others as well) should let things play out and stop overreacting, because to my knowledge (and apparently yours) this hypothetical scenario has not occurred before, our coaching staff has earned the benefit of the doubt through the anecdotal evidence that we all are aware of.
Depends on certain factors (i.e. How they initially found out how tall I was or how tall they though I was. Did I hypothetically tell them I was 6'1 and I'm only 5'10, did my coaching staff, did they make an assumption? Did they say the offer was contingent on meeting with them in person and confirming all the information such as height/weight/gpa/etc.? ). But yeah, generally speaking I would be upset.
I've never heard of players personally reporting their height/weight to recruiting sites, and then having those measurements posted on their profile.
The most level-headed post here. Thank you.
I agree with Bob. (Inuyesta's post was balanced and, therefore, comprehensive.)
Both sides should adopt a ceasefire and then take a wait-and-see approach.
Perhaps I'm a cynic but I think people are too quick to pick sides on instinct in the absence of complete information.
Simply put: there is nothing wrong with being patient.

This is all ridiculous speculation but if the coaches have a change of heart then pull the offer. No reason to have a kid on scholarship that they don't believe that they would want. Nothing has been signed.
They seriously serious? I like how the guy didn't list the TEs because he knew he would look foolish even more than he has!
This is a simplistic and, quite frankly, idiotic take. Coaches do not have to accept a commitment from every recruit who wants in. Two years ago, Hoke turned Se'Von Pittman away when he tried to commit. Was he in wrong for doing so? I'd say no.There could be any number of reasons why they wouldn't take Watson, some of which you and I haven't a clue about.
Seems unnecessary, but thanks.
Yes to #4. See Se'Von Pittman.

Nope...The seat was taken. I am hoping we fill the LBer spot this weekend so the crying can come to an end! Back to 2014 recruiting!

According to that link, peppers didnt run a 20.79 200M, but a 21.37. Track times confuse me.
You sound really dumb right now. You are really going far out on that limb without actually knowing any real information about the situation.
Not sure if you noticed, but just read thru 3 pages of you going crazy about how "repugnant" this situation is and "the coaches screwed up"...the one you don't know anything about...where nothing has happened yet...
Just figured I'd point it out... "
Three pages of worthless stuff. Lets move on. Any news on the visits this weekend? How about that Hand interview...when does that go up?
There's this, but I hope he's referring to more than just this when he says he has a full update.
Saturdays College Prep World Virginia Camp had big-name participants such as Top247 defensive end Jalyn Holmes.
Scout people for michigan sure sound pretty confident on winovich. Osu people arent worried though, still say winovich will be a buckeye even though michigan gained major ground over the weekend. Reminds me of the high confidence they had in berger right before he committed to osu

Yeah, both programs are very confident. The insiders and the commits are confident on both ends.
Can't wait to see what awesome picture they choose for him if he commits to Ohio on 2014bucks.com! Such a great site...OK I can't finish my thoughts in fear of some people's sarcasm meter being broken. Basically what I am saying is that site is dumb.
Scout said they believe osu is in 3rd now.....
Behind Pitt? That would be shocking.
Agreed. I suppose though that if Winovich ends up visiting Pitt again like he had planned on doing that would mean they're definitely a serious player in his recruitment.
Yeah i dont believe for one second that winovich has pitt 2nd and osu in 3rd. Nahhhhhh. And yes scout michigan people have osu 3rd..

I never said the "coaches screwed up", I said IF they offered a kid they would not give a scholarship to, that would be a big screw up.
Hopefully Winovich commits and its all moot.
EDIT: And I said that uncommitable offers, and worse yet, pulling a scholarship offer from a kid after he thinks he has a spot on the team, are repugnant.
