This is a very bizarre case. Doles was one of the first 2014 players to receive an offer from the staff, he's very clearly a Plan A recruit for them.........yet I'd imagine a large portion (even a majority, maybe?) of Michigan fans wouldn't mind him going elsewhere.
He might be a Plan 'A' recruit, but we all agree he needs seasoning for a couple of years.

I definitely want him and think he could be an amazing G or C, he just needs size right now.
Correct me if i am wrong but you cant officially mail out offers until the summer right?
It's summer somewhere.
This is Murica and it sure as shit aint summer! Especially in the bluegrass state! I would know i live here!
Most OL need a couple years before they are ready to play. I would love Michigan to get to the point where the only way a redshirt freshman OL starts is if he is an absolute stud. Otherwise they can wait until they are in their third year in the program before starting.
thats the way it used to be and should be again very soon.
August 1st. I doubt that's an official, written offer.
Don't go by those temperature readings, they're rarely updated.
Can't wait to head out to this Michigan Michigan state game tmrw!
If you guys watched doles last two seasons of film, you could see jow much he developed with size, strength and mental progression. The kid could make another jump, and I really like him. OL is the hardest position to judge, so ill trust the coaches here, they seem to be doing fine.
I'm in the minority but I really want Doles. All he needs is weight. His technique is great
I should probably clarify my comments from last night as some are taking my observations the wrong way. I want Doles too, mainly because our coaches want him so badly. I'm trying to put myself in his shoes though. Michigan has brought in monster o-line hauls in back to back classes, most of whom are bigger than I am. I know that I'm going to need at least 2 to 3 years of S&C before I'll be ready to compete for playing time. In the meantime, if UM continues to bring in big time prospects who are bigger and more "game ready" from a physical standpoint than I am, then it is possible that I could get passed up on the depth chart failry quickly. I would definitely want to explore all of my options before committing to Michigan if I were him.

I'll pretend I am a MSU slappy ..... 'Look Ma ... Harris put UM first! We must be favored over Sparty!'
Note: Who is keeping count how many times Harris (1) Claps for UM, and (2) claps for MSU? This will obviously be the decision-maker for him.

Go blue.....beat ohio.....
I've had some people ask if Jalen Embry is visiting Michigan today, and I have confirmed he is NOT visiting. He will be visiting next weekend for the Indiana game, as will 2014 CB Timothy Cason.

Yes, the prospects coming in might be more game ready size-wise, but most freshmen OL aren't ready either a) mentally, or b) technique-wise, either. Doles already has good technique, something that can take up to the entire freshman season to get down. So while other OL will be learning in that facet of the game, Doles will only need to get bigger. I wouldn't be surprised to see him up near 270 by the end of his senior season, which isn't mammoth, but it's not tiny. Some comparative OL would be Kugler, Dawson, and Bars, who were 6'5" 280lbs, 6'4" 280lbs, and 6'5" 275lbs.

Harris already helping UM recruit Campbell to A2? Looks like it to me.
I got out of it that they were both recruiting each other. They both want to be leaders!
Pretty sure that is the coaches plan
Fine by me. Both recruiting to A2 - all that matters.
God, if we could get Harris and Campbell in back-to-back classes... Talk about giving Shane and Wilton some weapons, holy balls.
What if he shows up in green and white ?
