It reminds me of the scene in moneyball where the scouts are talking to Billy Beane and they are all saying how well the guy can hit the ball. When they're done talking about the guy Billy Beane turns to them and says something like "if he can hit so well, then why doesn't he hit better?" For the MSU WR situation it's similar. If they are such good WR's, why do they have so many drops?
That would be my #1 requirement for a WR if I was a coach scouting players to recruit. Don't care how big/fast/freakishly athletic a kid is, if he can't catch the damn ball, who cares?
Michigan is known to get their main recruits from Ohio and this year should be no different. As of right now, Michigan has sent out 6 offers to Ohio recruits:
1) Michael Ferns (Michigan Commit)
2) Joe Henderson (not sure where he stands)
3) Kyle Berger (hopefully ends up blue but Ohio fans think otherwise)
4) Marshon Lattimore (Ohio lean)
5) Erick Smith (Ohio lean)
6) Dante Booker (Ohio lean)
If we do end up getting Kyle Berger and maybe Joe Henderson (have better options than him at WDE), that's only up to 3 Ohio commits from this class. If you go through the top 10 Ohio prospects, most are Ohio commits/leans. This is a year where Michigan can not afford to lose any of its Michigan recruits.
Yes, we are in on a lot of top 50 recruits (high 4 to 5 stars) this year and are in their top 5s or 10s but as history shows, if we get 2 of them (being optimistic), we will still need a lot more recruits. Where do we go for recruits? I hope the coaches get stronger ties with Illinois and Virginia state schools. It would great if we can add these two states as feeder states from Michigan (like Ohio and Michigan).

Henderson doesn't have an offer. I honestly don't know how many ohio kids we will get this year besides Ferns and maybe Berger.
Everybody is saying this is a down year for ohio talent, I don't mind this being the year that we only poach 1 high quality player (Ferns) and expand the recruiting territory.
Highly doubt the validity of this, but I'll check with Corey to get it figured out.

Holmes is going to be an extremely difficult pull, regardless of that interview. I put him in that (probably fairly big) category with Jabrill Peppers that were childhood fans of Michigan, but need to see it on the field post RichRod.
If this team is 8-5 next year with an anemic offense in big games again, chances with Holmes are really slim regardless of him being a fan of Michigan back in the day.
The top-5 that article lists is absurd though. I fully believe Holmes is still very interested in Michigan.
There is some confusion over whether or not Joe Henderson actually has an offer.
That is a good group of receivers. I would take that group knowing routes and hands are essentially all they need.

Are the 2014 kids allowed to be in contact with the 2013 kids on visits?
I can't imagine why they wouldn't be. Schools have visitors in different classes visit together all the time.
He was just spotted at the game
We still interested in Hillman? He is visiting OSU and ND at the end of March and does not mention UM.
He will visit us as well, just probably not until April. Sounds as if there's still a good amount of mutual interest.

I really, really want Cole in this class. He comes off as a kid who will recruit heavily for his school once committed. Not to mention he'd be recruiting the southern/FL kids, plus his stud teammates. Hopefully our coaches go all out next weekend.
Wait, really? I was just guessing. But that guy really enjoys tweeting at recruits.
That is all in addition to the fact that he is a really good prospect. I'd love to see him pull the trigger next weekend.
I'm guessing we are recruiting Cole as an OG? Or is OT possible?
26,300 tweets, and mostly at high school kids? Sounds like someone needs to get a life....
