No chance after Hoke leaves for the NFL
Can't believe I missed that initially. Was promptly updated.
Does Andrew Brown really have legit interest? I don't know anything about him.
I remember people saying that we had no shot at him when we offered. People should have learned the first time when they said we had no shot at Derrick Green.

I heard he will take a very hard look at Michigan. It will be a difficult pull no doubt, but not unrealistic by any means.
It's because some people don't realize when recruits like him come around who actually value academics and respect/honesty, Michigan is quintessential for that. We're right towards the top of the list for powerhouse football programs with top-notch education, and Hoke is as real a person as a coach can get. I actually think it will be difficult for Hand to turn down Michigan, as much as he may love Foster and V. Tech. He will see some awesome games at the Big House next year, and we have a lot of manpower recruiting him. I've always been cautiously optimistic about our chances with Hand, and the more I hear reports from him, the further my optimism increases. We will know a lot more after he visits Ann Arbor.
Also, the BBQ would be a PERFECT environment for him. Every program is going to try to pamper him with the typical BS most coaches spew to the number one recruit in the country. Our BBQ is in place to avoid just that, and I think for a kid like Hand that will really resonate.
Totally agree Mitch. I was in the camp that we'd offer Hand and would never really have a chance, but the more I've read the more I think Hand fits Michigan like a glove (pun? Yeah. Trademark recruiting cycle 2014, feb 15 2002) He seems to be taking academics seriously, and has a true process in place for his recruitment rather than just looking to be shown "the love." I think the BBQ would really help our chances with him, especially with other recruits like Mone, Speight, and Ferns present who just seem like genuine kids who really love Michigan.

I think Michigan is going to need VT to have another sub-par season, but it's totally realistic that Michigan can land Hand. If he doesn't choose Michigan, it definitely won't be because the coaches weren't recruiting him hard enough, this is probably one of the few cases I've seen the coaches put an absolute full court press on.
He is apparently good friends with Speight and Derrick Green, so Michigan has that in their favor too.
Nice job Mitch.
So if Hand is good buddies with Speight and DG then does that mean he is friends with Kendall Fuller or an of his brothers? I was just wondering because that could help V. Tech also.
I may be wrong, but I believe the Fuller family is from Maryland.
No you are right, I was just wondering if they knew each other.
Take it fwiw, but Mason Cole's twitter feed is insanely pro-Michigan. Can't help but believe we are in the lead for his services.
You may have a point...and to expound on that, George Campbell visiting next week may also be proof of where Cole has us on his leader board. If Campbell knows that his buddy and teammate is probably going to Michigan (75-80%), its something he needs to check out sooner rather than latter.
It's great that Campbell us coming, but I wouldn't read too much into it IMO. The East Lake trio have been visiting **everywhere** together...to me, the fact that Scott is not coming is more significant than the fact that Campbell is

Scott has interest though. Actually, the idea that all three (or at least Scott and Cole) want to go to school together may end up being a negative. I frankly think Cole would have already committed otherwise.
Mason Cole... your name here...
My 2 cents.

No, I agree that Scott definitely has interest, I'm just saying maybe not quite as much as we hoped
Campbell to UF is pretty clear atm
I know it's a long shot, but there has been increased talk of them all going to the same school. It had kind of died down for a while.
That would be crazy.
I think we have a good shot at all three. I'm not to worried about Scott not coming this time. I think he will visit again .
It would be crazy, but realistically it would probably just be bad news for us with Cole, not good news for Scott/Campbell.
If they truly want to attend the same school, then it definitely isn't good for us because Cole has the same amount of interest in Notre Dame as he does us and I've heard rumors about ND being at the top for Scott. Recruiting is fluid but at the moment it would be preferable if they ended up not being a package deal.
