No, I was just wondering if there was a legitimate chance that he could pull the trigger for them next week. Like Webb, McDowell has been pretty quiet. The assumption is that we and Notre Dame are currently on the top of his list, but that may be an incorrect assumption, like the one that had us and LSU at the top for Webb.
Why don't you try to bring something of value to a discussion for once.
Your chicken little mentality is getting stale.
Gotcha. That's just how scout board operates.
They freak out over everything and go into RCMB level melt downs on a regular basis.
Yes but we also require kids to go to class.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Well I assumed they knew something about McDowell that we didn't, but with what you have said it just sounds like they are panicking and conceding him to OSU, which is something that we will have to let play out. I do think that they need to keep McDowell at home, though.
What are you bringing?
This affects MSU much, much more than UM. MSU lived by the Michigan talent during their brief rise to the top. Regardless if MSU wants to admit it, they do not recuit great nationally. They need regional talent to field a good team. With Tressel gone, MSU does not have the 'gentleman' agreement between MD and JT. Meyer cares for no one but himself. Add a 12-0 OSU and ND teams to the fold, and MSU is being squeezed.
Now, as for Michigan, this does hurt. However, I am not pressing the panic button yet. BH and GM have shown great ability to recruit in OH and nationally. OH cannot take everyone, and you need to pick and choose your battles. The UM coaches have shown they can recruit with the best. I trust them on what is going on.

MSU has gotten two of the top 10 Michigan recruits each of the last two years. Michigan has gotten six each year.
Now if MM goes Ohio ... then I will be concerned.
And those two recruits per year greatly helped them. You are missing my point. With OSU, ND, and UM sucking the regional talent up, MSU is being squeezed. Remember the 'pipeline to FH Harrison'? They are planning on making a dent in CT, which I cannot see at this point.
This doesn't look good:
Damien Harris @Damien_D1Harris
That Ohio State visit was definitely the best visit I've been on. #OSU #BuckeyeNation
Honestly as long as we get McDowell OR Hand I'll be happy. Obviously McDowell to OSU is the worst case scenario, but these are elite level kids that are going to have everyone in their ear.
I still think ND is the main threat, but you never know.
Michigan sucks up a different level of talent than Michigan State. Michigan State was always going to be a long shot for kids like Webb, Marshall, McDowell, and the like.
If elite programs make hay in Michigan, its UM that loses targets, not MSU.
And yet they still trail us for his services.
His stance on favorite visits will change when he comes to UTL round 2.
He will be visiting UM on March 10. Let's wait until then before we draw any conclusions.
They are and have been in trail position to us, they absolutely need to make great impressions on Harris for them to even try to catch us (and Harris has said he isn't sure if OSU would be able to catch UM), and they still might not be able to despite that. Plus he is a 2015 kid, long way to go.
and osu had IU's nut sack on their head the whole bb game. I know these recruits don't care to much about who wins or looses but geeze whats in the cool aide down there?
Yes, but Michigan can recruit MUCH better than MSU outside the state. Thus, it hurts MSU more.
MSU got good by landing their Plan A and Plan B type kids in Michigan and the Midwest (Gholston, Baker, Norman, Sims, Caper, etc.). With Michigan, OSU, and ND all doing great, MSU is having to settle for Plan B, Plan C, Plan D type kids in the Michigan and the Midwest for the most part. It hurts MSU way more that all 3 regional powers are doing what they are. Michigan can still get elite kids in-state, in-region, and out of region, nothing has changed for us.
You can stop panicking now.
obviously negative recruiting and lies. urbs tells the kids what they want to hear. TBH, I don't like the honest approach by hoke. he needs to start being like an SEC slime ball of a coach and say whatever he needs to say to get kids. he needs to start negative recruiting against ohio.
Harris said that it would be tough for them to catch up, but it looks as if they are if the best visit he has ever taken is one during the offseason. If that is better than camping and subsequently getting his coveted Michigan offer, or better than his visit for the MSU game, then his recruitment is going to be tougher than expected.
Wrong just let them implode on their own just USC and Florida before Urban left
Hard to tell .... but ... something needs to change IF another drops in this fashion. I am not losing sleep over Marshall ....but a MM ... yes.
