I hear you. I guess I would agree with you, except all other schools are doing the same thing as us so maybe they are all doing what they are supposed to do in this situation with this crop of QBs.
Bama's riches at RB are just crazy and here is a '14 kid that likes in Bama. Balance and lateral quickness are off the charts.
Watch Racean Thomas, and 26 other videos.
That video is incredible.
Huh...hadn't watched that one before. Yikes that's ridiculous.
holy crap. impressive video. kid is tough, fluid and looks pretty darn fast.
@DavidCornwell5: Making a Michigan visit soon need to nail some of these schools down.
We'll get to that level eventually but it takes time. First we have to go 10-2 or better this year.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Have you seen the riches at Bama it is absurd.
Walk on 4* QB is all u need to know
Personally, the 5 that I would like for us to offer would be...
1.) David Cornwell
2.) Michael O'Connor
3.) Deshone Kizer
4.) Caleb Henderson
5.) Andrew Ford
With Tyler Wiegerts and Travis Smith being plan B options.
Someone said Ford hasn't heard from UM in a while.
Henderson >>>>>>> Kizer
That's a big shame if true, would love to have him in the class. A QB class of Henderson and Ford would be pretty awesome imo
I enjoyed reading this post. The tiny issue with me is why wait for this offer if its inevitable? Whats the point in waiting? I also think another dynamic in play here is that the coaches my only be looking at taking 1 QB in the '14 cycle. If thats the case, then they definitely want to get their top guy, without having to offer all the secondary and tertiary offers and possibly have a lesser rated kid on the board jump in and snag the QB spot for the class. If will be interesting to see if we do offer Cornwell first, how and when the coaches juggle extending the other QB offers. It may be a tricky juggling act.
I gotta go with awink on this. They have the top group of four already. Offer the three you are comfortable with, and pursue the top two heavily.
I dont care what the other schools are doing. This is maybe THEE most important year to snag a really good qb. We cant whiff on the top choices here.
I can cometely understand the coaches wanting to identify the number 1 guy here. The problem is, is that everyone else is too. Our odds of fighting 25 fbs schools for the one everyone deems is the best is going to be tough.
I agree 100% with Kyle here. And at the end of the day.. it never hurts to be the first offer.
Yeah but most of those 25 won't be considered much at all by the prospect.
But if you lose him, does it matter to whom you lost him to?
By getting in early and going hard, you cant blame it on anything. If we dont offer until late and we lose the guy, lots of people will be upset.
ESPECIALlY in a year when we need two.
Just making sure they're Michigan Men i guess

The DNA analysis hasn't come back from the lab yet.
Sure it cant hurt, but its not that big either. think you, Kyle and wink are overvaluing being the first to offer. My brother is a lawyer, once he passed his boards he already knew he would receive multiple offers from firms. He knew each firm, liked each firm, it's didn't matter which firm offered first because he knew all three would offer so it came down to the best package. He knew he was a top commodity, wanted by the top firms. With such a big decision, who offers first isn't that big when you already been in contact with all firms
Same with Recruitihg. Building a relationship with the player is what is important. Cornwell will likely identify more with the school who started recruiting him first, not who offers because who started recruiting him first likely has the longest relationship with cornwell. Lets flip it to a different recruit like Hand who already got a triple dozen offers. Would being the first to offer set team xyz that far apart? Cornwell and Hand get the best pitches from all of the best recruiters it's the relationship that matters. , since he is waiting on offers from all of his top schools, Cornwell won't value who offer first as much as you think.
Why hasn't the offer gone out is a different topic. My thought is this, Being the offered QB is a prideful thing. Perhaps the coaches have a top 3 but aren't sure if all three should be offered at once or they should be staggered. One way or another has ramifications because again relationships are being built. I guess I'll go back to my original pt. none of our top 3 targets have offers from big time programs so why criticize UM coaches when others are doing the same. Obviously they know something we don't, if that wasn't the case then o'conner/Henderson/cornwell would have offers from the likes of ND, bama, etc and you Kyle and wink would have a legitimate gripe for not offering yet.
As long as we offer before their senior year starts, we'll be in the top three for Cornwell and Henderson. So for Cornwell, we'll be competing with UCLA and Alabama and for Henderson it'll be MSU and OSU. We're still recruiting both of them as hard as we would if we offered. I would agree with you if we were not recruiting them. Then it'd be an issue. But both of them have said that they aren't turned off by us not offering.
Also, you should probably give up on the 2 QBs this year. Doesnt look like it's gonna happen. If it does, we'd be able to get a guy like Travis Smith whenever we want.
