Chesson could easily get up to 195-200 by next fall.
Sorry for intruding, but I have wondered the same.
From an MSU perspective, I know we're sitting well with Caleb Henderson, and have also offered DeShone Kizer (who I anticipate would not go green).
Is it possible Hoke just simply isn't interested with the current 2014 QB class? Did they maybe start recruiting some prospects who didn't pan out and they think they're too behind on the 2014 options? Or are they maybe waiting to see whether Michael O'Connor reclassifies to 2014?
I feel comfortable that a UM offer wouldn't affect Henderson (rumor is the only team that would potentially affect MSU being his leader is OSU), but if Henderson does go elsewhere, I imagine Stewart would become a priority, so UM sitting like a shark in the water isn't personally my ideal scenario...
I just think they have a top 10 group or so, but were too busy during the regular season to really get granular and decide their pecking order. They also wanted full season film, and the season just ended recently. They will evaluate again their targets and go from their. Early offers of their top 1-2 will probably start going out in January at the earliest.
Caleb Henderson will be one of the first QBs offered by UM. He is high on our list. I also think we will try hard to take two QBs in 2014. Early offers will likely include:

2 QB's? Interesting. One PRO one Dual?
UM is obviously a destination spot for QB's, so it would be interesting to see what happened if they offer Henderson. FYI, per MSU247 staff, he wants to end the recruiting process.
I think UM would land Stewart quickly, which could be why they haven't offered him yet if he isn't their #1 option. I think Kizer is probably an OSU lean at this point, but UM offering would probably change that more than the MSU offer did.
Will be interesting to see what happens.
I haven't heard of the other two. Are they national prospects? From Texas or the west coast? (MSU touches neither of those areas well at all)
Everything I've heard is that Kizer would lean UM if we offered (grew up a UM fan), but like Stewart, and like Tyler Wiegers, I can only assume that the coaches want to tread very carefully with their offers to kids who are capable of jumping on it right away, just to make sure they have the right person.
I think Devin Gardner performing so well actually made it more difficult for us to land a 2014 QB (or 2). Before, it was assumed that Shane and Bellomy would battle it out for the starting job in 2013, and it wasn't looking like Shane would RS. With Gardner's success, we have the freedom to RS Shane, so there's no longer an opportunity for a 2014 QB to RS and gain two years of separation from Shane. I can't blame kids for being wary about going into a situation where they'd probably have to beat out an older, 5-star QB in order to earn any meaningful playing time before their RS Sr. year.
EDIT: Also, if I remember correctly, Cornwell is from OK, and Chryst is CA.

Cornwell is my personal favorite from the video i've seen.
I agree. He's the one I want most. I'd also like us to take a guy like Dariean Watkins who can play QB and other positions as well.
I really want Watkins on the team. Kid is going to be great at whatever position
Agreed. I hope he's a part of this class in the end.

Ohio State offers Michigan commit Denzel Ward
Expected, I believe he said they were very close to offering back when he committed to Michigan.
You know, I never put much stock into what the SEC used to say about Urban not being able to scout talent so he'd just ride coattails and offer who the other big names offered, but he's really doing a magnificent job of coming late to the party on so many of our commits/recruits.
Hoke goes out early and identifies guys like Stribling, Conley, and Ward, while Urbs just sits around. The only "find" that Meyer has made so far is plucking Timothy Gardner, but while all of the guys we identify early blow up, Gardner hasn't made a peep.
I do believe the OSU/OL scraps thread needs to be updated ...
OSU fans, at least the honest ones, will admit that Hoke has excelled at finding diamonds in the rough.
I am just curious if there is one player in the last two recruiting cycles that Urban recruited that was not a big time recruit, and then 'blew up'. I wouldn't really count Gardner.
Yeah, Gardner was just the only one that I could think of who was a relative unknown. Maybe Tracy Sprinkle? But then again, the only people hyping Sprinkle are OSU fans, so take that with a grain of salt. I honestly can't think of anyone that he identified early who later blew up.
Eh, maybe Lewis Neal. Although I'm not sure if OSU was one if the first to offer Neal.

@Diezel75_ and I are future teammates, period. #PioneersOfTeam135
IIRC, Dantonio actually identified Sprinkle first.
I definitely agree that Meyer follows others, we've been seeing it too. Dantonio even said as much to a recruit (Kyle Trout I believe).
I do wonder, however, if Dantonio/Hoke would ever use that to trick Meyer into recruiting a mediocre talent...
#Michigan offered 2014 Freedom (Calif.) RB Joe Mixon tonight - big new offer for him http://bit.ly/OAwNEy #GoBlue
Shai McKenzie caught my attention last night.
Joe Mixon is the other guy that really impressed me.
6'1" 191lbs.This is the Best Junior Running Back on the entire West Coast! He has offers from several Pac-12 Schools and should have offers from all the other conference's soon. He run's the ball great and can also line up as a wide out! He has sprinter speed...

Thanks for the video Frank, I like the looks of this kid. It seems like things are playing out nicely for us to bring in a solid stable of RBs over the next couple years.
According to Tremendous, Hoke and Montgomery are dropping in on Artavis Scott and Mason Cole today...add a couple new commits today one time?
Would love it....but prolly not happening
