Who is Coach Brown?
Also, I don't recall reading any recent news, but where are we with McDowell and where do you put us % wise in terms of a commitment?
I don't know the percentages, but I do know that Notre Dame seems to be our biggest threat with him.
11 National Titles | 42 Conference Titles | 3 Heisman Winners | 78 All-Americans | 37 College Hall of Fame Members
He runs a Michigan blog. The M Block or something similar.
According to Tremendous, Artavis Scott has been offered.
That's great news, wonder if its for WR or corner? I hope it's WR but I remember there was some chatter about UM maybe recruiting him at Corner.
I hope we offered him as a WR.
He can be a dominant player at that position. I liken him to Santana Moss during his days at the U.

We offered him as a WR.
One step closer to getting that awesome package deal.
Agreed. Only drawback is MC would probably commit sooner than AS. If they are a 'package deal', we may have to wait on AS.

How is that a drawback? If we get an early commit from Cole (not a guarantee at all), then he would recruit the heck out of Scott. That would be a good thing.
I'd be fine if one committed before the other and constantly recruited the other.
I do think we need an elite slot receiver in this class. I like Scott a lot and think he could a lot of damage over the middle and on crossing routes. We've been getting a lot of possession WR's and now we need a couple game breakers. A couple matchup nightmares for LB's and Safeties. We're set at TE with Funchess, Williams, and Butt. We're set at the outside WR spot with Darboh, Chesson, York, and Dukes. Now we just need that slot/flanker type guy. I was hoping for James Quick in the 2013 class but that ain't happenin'....so Scott could be our guy.
"Those Who Stay...Will be Champions"
We should be taking atleast 1 slot guy each recruiting class, and probably 3 WR's overall every year
Just a general comment, just because you are under 6ft doesn't make you a slot WR. Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are examples of WRs over 6ft who frequently line up in the slot to expose matchups. Desean Jackson and Steve Smith are a few of many WRs under 6ft who line up on the outside. Gallon lines up in the outside. Just saying, don't just assume he is a slot guy because of his height, coaches wouldn't recruit a WR just for the slot anyway, it's clear they like guys that are versatile. There's nothing that suggests chesson or jones couldn't play the slot. clearly they like Scott because he is a damn good WR prospect and we should leave it at that.

In a big surprise, Keita Bates-Diop committed to Ohio who was seen as a distant 4th.
This is why I don't follow basketball recruiting.
Most Michigan fans don't follow Michigan basketball recruiting because Michigan is, was, and always will be a football school.
True, but Beilein is trying to bring back a respectable team to compete on a national level
We are respectable now. He's trying to make us elite and I am thankful for that.
I hope he can lead us to a National Championship. That would be the ultimate redemption after the 10+ years of purgatory Michigan basketball suffered through in the wake of the Fab Five scandal.
scared of competition
No idea why he chose Ohio over Michigan but we'll be alright. We're expecting a small class in 2014 and some of our other top targets are still uncommitted:
- Trevon Bluiett
- Jae'Sean Tate
- Devin Booker
