I didn't want to start a new post because I didn't know how well it would do but I find it very interesting how dangerously well Hoke did at recruiting with an 8-5 season and was able to keep all but 1 commit. I mean how well could Hoke do if he had Urban's 12-0 season last year? I find it impressive.
Both 7 and 16 are available. And I think his # in HS was 12. Something tells me he gets 7 or 16 to start (because Gardner has 12) and switches to 12 when Gardner graduates.
Give him #7.
Michigan had another fairly successful left handed quarterback that wore number 7.
I can still hear ole' Bob Ufer now... "the guts and glue of the Maize n' Blue... #7.. Ricky "The Peach" Leach....
Guts and Glue (of the Maize & Blue)... a phrase that Bob Ufer used all the time to describe Ricky Leach.
Are we forgetting that "Footsteps" Falco played at Ohio State?
Also, #10 will become available after Gallon graduates. Given Brady's ultra success in the NFL, I think his Michigan #10 should become a permanent QB jersey. I would reserve at least 7, 10, 12 and 16 for QBs going forward.
but like someone said already on here...Alabama 247 has Poggi down as an offical visit on Jan 25th at Alabama. I am a true Blue Michigan man down here in Alabama and I did say the radio down here stated he did not visit...so who are we to believe. If he truely did visit does Hoke stand by his poilcy of commits taking OV"s ? This will be interesting to see how it plays out.
If I hear anything being said about Poggi down here in Bama I will definately let it be known. The radio is sooooooooo high on college football down here. They talk about it 365 days a year. It's thier lively hood down here. I still believe Michigan and Ohio is the best rivally in all of sports but the Iron bowl gets pretty crazy down here. Lets get all these boys signed and lets keep moving upward.
It almost certainly was technically an OV. Alabama probably paid for it and they couldn't do that otherwise. But people are getting too caught up in that technicality. Who cares if Alabama paid for it? The real questions we should care about (and which we have no real way to answer) is whether Henri was fully upfront and honest with the UM staff beforehand and whether Henri was/is seriously considering a flip to Alabama. We just don't know and the rumors go both ways. We might never know for certain.
Yep, and imvfor one done talking about it.
Wasnt it said that the Poggi's told the coaches that it wasnt an OV that Henry was just tagging along with his father to visit an old friend?
Now if its being reported that it was an OV Henry broke Hoke's policy, so that should result in a pulled scholarship, or that Hoke has lied about the policy to begin with, and it only pertains to certain recruits?
Apparently Treadwell put up pictures of him with a bundle of cash on twitter then deletes it. LoL...
Oh god.... Who could possibly think that's a good idea? Even if it's just his money from a job or something.... Cmon man...
Especially after he just took a visit to Ole Miss...
You get paid in a stack full of hundreds?
Well, when you say "wasn't it said", by whom? I have never heard Biff or Henry Poggi say it. I also have never heard Coach Hoke or a member of the UM staff say it. I have seen all sorts of things reported second, third and fourth hand on message boards, but that doesn't mean those things are true. And as far as the "no visit" policy is concerned, it also repeatedly gets twisted and embellished and misrepresented. AFAIK neither Hoke or the staff has ever discussed it publicly. Reliable second hand sources close to the program (Sam Webb and TomVH) have generally desctibed it as a "don't commit to UM until you complete your search process and are sure and once you do we expect all visits to stop because, well, you just told us you were done and you were sure". I believe that is reasonably accurate. But we also have David Dawson and Gareon Conley as examples of prospects who Michigan continued to recruit even though they took visits. That tells me the "no visit" policy is not as black and white as many message board posters believe it is. I'm pretty sure if the staff feels they are being jerked around and lied to (see Pharaoh Brown), they aren't going to react well. OTOH I also can imagine scenarios in which a commit comes to Coach Hoke and explains a special or unique situation and is allowed to take a visit without burning bridges entirely. But, again, Coach Hoke has never told me this or said any of it publicly. We are all largely just guessing.

Wow, and why again do people think something is up with the amount of kids going to Ole Miss?
Treadwell loving Oxford from the minute he arrived on campus probably had nothing to do with Franklin or Grant.
Omg. Awsome. I love it
$EC $EC $EC!!! or maybe they just want to experience the Blind side....

He could very well be getting paid at Ole Miss, but you shouldn't label somebody just because they didn't commit right away as a prima donna.
Stealing Sparty's recruits and owning them on the field since 1898
Posting a picture of you holding hundred dollar bills is a big red flag.
These kids are going to have to behave when they reach campus, and some folks are going to be offering them whatever they want.
Hoke and Co. cannot monitor everything these kids do.
I was just commenting on the people who said that because he didn't commit to Michigan right away he had character issues. He didn't end up commiting to Michigan but that is beyond the point. Is Derrick Green any less of a Michigan man than Dymonte Thomas because he didn't commit until a year and a half after him.
Wow. Regardless of 'where' it came from .... not cool. It can imply the wrong things to people.

It's not about the timing of the commitment, it's how he approached it.
