Do you know Simplecomplex?
I've seen a few of his posts
If we close with David Dawson, Delano Hill, and Derrick Green I will be very happy. Add on a surprise and this is a class for the ages!
Also, this question might have already been asked but I'm just curious..
Who's the 'must get' prospect left on the board?
That would be solid. I wouldn't be mad with the kicker McGrath if he is truly an NFL level kicker. A good FG kicker is priceless especially at the college level.
Really? Because I haven't heard anyone even consider this as an option considering the coaches promised most of our OL commits that they were only taking 5 and I'd imagine many of them would not be pleased if we took 6. Not sure why we would anyway given the amount of OL we will have taken the past 2 years and the coaches desire for more bodies in the secondary.
Maybe because we have less scholarship players on the OL than we do in the secondary.
Except that a couple of those DB are fairly versatile and could be options at WR if there is a backlog at the position. Don't see us switching any of these OL to DL at any point.
Why can't he look into schools and not have something be wrong with him? I tried a new sandwich place today even though I'm comfortable with my goto spot. Something wrong with me for looking into something new?
Other than Q Wash...and that was a pretty good flip!
Yeah, who would want to check out a school that offers an awesome combination of world-class academics and stellar football tradition? USC is basically Michigan with nicer weather and more attractive women. Maybe he doesn't care about competition/sharing carries.
Yeah and we have taken 5 WRs in the last 2 classes so if you switch a DB to WR then you still have a backlog. The fact of the matter is we are no where near where we need to be numbers wise on the OL. For 2014 we will have 11 scholarship OL that are not true freshman. The chances are a couple of those guys just won't be good. We better hope there isn't any attrition due to guys giving up football, transfering or career ending injuries or we would have serious depth issues on the OL again.
And the Campbell flip to OL, which was terrible, and his flip back to DL, which was not bad.
I think it's both. We only have 4 guys from the 09-11 classes still on the roster. Anyone else are Walk ons. Those Guys were also recruited for the spread and not top guys. So hoke wants his guys and he has to replenish the stock.
5 WR in 2 classes is not very many, especially considering all the players and the graduating and considering you can play 4-5 WR at a time in a spread set. The same issues you mentioned on OL happen at every position.
Today on the recruiting roundup Sam said Michigan could sign between 4 and 7 prospects in the 2013 class, thought that was very interesting and attrition would be needed.
Safe to assume that WR is the focal point next year? Maybe DL?
I'd say RB, especially if Green goes elsewhere. Seems like the coaches have been evaluating/have offered a lot of RB recruits for 2014 already.
Of course it happens at every position. We have already hit the DB position hard in 2 classes. 5 WR is a lot for a team looking to move to a pro style. Teams typically want at least 14 or 15 scholarship OL. Michigan is not there yet.
Good point, Michigan sorely needs a runningback. I have a tendency to think that Green will end up at Michigan. Even still a back up will be nice.
5 WR is two classes is not a lot unless your team is looking to run the option or wishbone. MSU has taken 6 WR commits in the last two classes with considerable less WR graduating and a much less pass-happy offense.
MSU lost all 3 WRs last year and MSU passes less than who? Michigan? With Denard we barely threw the ball.
There are rumored to be a couple of kids buried on the depth chart who are thinking about leaving after the bowl game.
I think we already know that at least one LB (Poole?) is leaving. It's also safe to assume that Lewan is going pro early. Add in 5th years who don't receive an extended scholarship (Mike Jones) and there's an additional 3 spots already. We also could be looking at a situation in which some 5th years simply don't want to come back (a la Rocko Khoury) and there could easily be some more attrition that we don't know about. It isn't terribly hard to see where those spots would come from.
