Jones runs another version on the spread. Michigan is the best fit for Green but I really think he wants to play in the south.

Agreed. I think he ends up at Auburn.

David Dawson has set up an official visit to Alabama for January 11th. Bama insiders seem to think that he made some sort of promise (silent verbal?) to Saban last night over the phone. Not sure I buy it, but, whatever. We'll see what happens next weekend.

Probably from the same Bama insiders who claimed Poggi was a silent verbal.
In short, Bama insiders are weak.
Agreed. I don't see Dawson committing to anyone (including Michigan) until after he finishes taking all of his visits.
And the same insiders that thought Rueben Foster would never flip to Auburn.
He doesn't have time with Cameron Hunt visiting on the 14th.
I believe if Dawson doesn't pull the trigger on the 14th, then the staff looks elsewhere. They wont wait around for him. Not with multiple quality Lineman interested in us. I think Hoke gives him the official as a final shot before the ship sails.
That would be fine by me. I really don't care which o-lineman commits first, just so long as we get one more in this class. I suppose if I had my choice, it would be Kenny Lacy because he has the feet & quickness to play LT one day. Dawson & Hunt do not, imho.
Dawson said in a recent interview that he planned to set up OVs to Alabama and MSU for sometime in January. In that interview, he also said he might not ever take those visits. What Dawson is thinking, who really knows.
UM has four highly rated OL coming into AA next weekend. If Dawson is not interested in committing to UM at that time, I highly doubt the staff will hold the spot for him until mid-January. The spot will be filled, one way or another, next weekend. Maybe we would consider taking a sixth OL later (a possibility that has been debated extensively on this board). But that probably will depend on Lewan's decision to come back or not and who else commits over the next few weeks. We are rapidly running out of room in this class.
Where did you hear that? 247 Alabama board?
Don't think Dawson will drag it out that long, TBH.

Love to get him but not holding my breath on this one.

Wow. Really doesn't feel like it.
Do you know when? He has a pretty good game.
Agreed. We have room ... and them some.
I think 1/18/13.

Thanks. That maybe a little to late.
I am not so sure. I think we have room. in fact, he has set only 2 officials so far - Michigan and Alabama. He has an offer list that beats almost anyone - all SECs with ND, OR, OK, etc.
Again ... not holding but breath but I would take him. I think the coaches would take a DT with his talent.
The reason I said that was because I could see 3 spot filling up next weekend and that would leave 2 spots for either Green, LM3 and Treadwell.
D.Dawson, Hunt and a safety or CB maybe R. Dawson or Crawford if they visit. I had hopes Conley would recommit but no chance of that now.
