FWIW McQuay is being recruited as corner.
Go Blue & Gig Em'!
Yeah. The class was great two weeks ago, and with the buzz around McQuay and Bailey, I was expecting an epic finish.
Two weeks later we have a scholarship long-snapper and a corner out of NC that no one, including ACC coaching staffs knew existed last week.
Its getting to be too much of a roller coaster ride, and I just keep feeling and looking dumber everyday as I try to figure out what is going on.
I think if the last few weeks has shown us anything, its that the coaches don't wait on players they like. After all they felt the need to be the first to offer a long-snapper and had to make sure that Ball St. didn't lock down Stribling.
He was being recruited as a corner, I wonder if he still is after taking three CBs. Might just take him and worry about where to play him later. Or they might tell him not to visit since we are full.
That's what I'm expecting. I think this staff wants a fourth DL over a fifth DB.
things have changed. they are thinking free safety for him which makes him that much less of a need after wilson last year. but i would love to reel him in still
Is this coming from the coaches?
And that's Wilson and Jeremy Clark, who both seem like really talented kids.
I thought Clark was more of a SS?
This is Michigan, fergodsakes.
Perhaps if he fills out. He's a real lanky joker.
I see, I must have been mistaking him for Gant.
Speaking of filling out, Michigan's S&C guys are gonna have their work cut out for them. The four CBs Michigan has signed in the last two years weigh a total of 670 lbs. That's an average of 168. And two of them are taller than 6'.
1 spot is saved for a WR, and the other(s) is best available/whoever commits first, whether that's a DB (Fuller, McQuay), WR (Bailey, Harris), RB or DL

i wouldnt put it past us taking another db and moving lewis to wr ive heard he has been tearing it up at wr at camps
Blake Countess did fine at his weight last year. Also might want to go by what the University has them listed as rather than the high school reports.
Blake Countess is certainly a little thicker than Richardson, Conley and Stribling. Just a glance confirms that.
I'm not worried about it. They probably won't be needed on the field as freshman anyways.
- Fuller I would love to see in the '13 class .... but he is headed to Va Tech or Clemson.
- McQuay I would love to see in the '13 class .... but his decision date is November. The coaches have already discussed with him, as McQuay has visited once I believe. How bad do we want an elite safety? I believe this decision is tied to the RB situation and/or 4th WR spot.
- Green I would love to see in the '13 class .... but his timetable is long, and he still has not trimmed his list to something manageable yet. This could be a NSD decision, which I can guarantee Michigan will be done with '13 by that time. Wilkins is going to Auburn.
- Bailey is an outside shot, but he would need an incredible visit to make him leave the south. This is possible, but I would not give it a 50-50 at this point. Less.
- Treadwell ...... I believe it is a race between Michigan, OK, OK State.
You are not concerning other candidates with Michigan in their top-3 or 5, i.e. Matias, Muhammad, etc. In the end, what do we "really" need in this class still? Another WR? Yes. Outside of the WR .... Michigan can let the cards fall through the fall/winter timeframe, and see if any of the elites drop.

I hope/wish we have a spot for Muhammad
Has he showed any interest in Michigan?
Probably won't unless someone de-commits
His father is a big Michigan fan.
Has named Michigan, and ND as his leaders. Won't be deciding until late in the process though, hasn't even start taking visits.
That's good to hear. I really have not heard to much from him. That's why I asked. Thanks for the info.
In all honesty, I think Michigan has a good chance at Muhammad. Seems to really like Michigan. The problem .... we may not have a spot available in November.
Why is he waiting so long to take visits?
I think it has to do with financial issues.
